Dude, I know this doesn't apply to your good self, but when I was a school and in the army there were a couple of individuals who labelled almost everyone a mard arse. They never used fuckwit, which is a glorious expression, but the pair of them were,, here we go, "The biggest *ucking tarts ", I'd had ever had to deal with up to that time. Totally irrational I know, but its up there with "Bright eyed and bushy tailed!", another statement that turns me(inwardly), into a deranged hispburd. It's not my place to tell people what to write, but If you can have pity on this poor soul, god will reward you!

No sympathy for Suarez, shocking behaviour, and his club really should just accept the ban after the disastrous manner in which they handled the Evra affair. No defense for the indefensible.

I do however feel that the FA would've treated the incident differently had it been a Rooney, Gerrard, Ashley Cole etc. I don't think they'd bite someone but as much as it is really bizarre and disgusting, the whole thing has been a bit over hyped by the media. Who sets the rules on ranking a stamp on the head, a head butt, racist abuse, spitting at someone, telling a ref to F off, eye gouging etc?

The real story going on here is the sheer incompetence with which LFC seems to be run right now.

I agree. Given the ban he got in Holland it was obvious to anyone with half a brain that the minimum punishment was going to be 7 games. Had Liverpool themselves done the decent thing like City did with Ben Thatcher and imposed their own 7-match ban on him, I suspect the FA may well have deemed it dealt with and left it at that. Instead they pussied out and gave him a token fine that went to a charity so tightly associated with Liverpool Football Club that no one really deems it as a punishment. Well, they've got an extra 3 games for their trouble, the dim-witted sewer rats.

Was widely used in the Manchester area.
Always assumed it's a corruption of "marred" (or "mar'd" or "marr'd" as Shakespeare wrote it). See also mardy, mardarse and mardy-pants.

It's a Manchester word so it couldn't have a finer pedigree.
