Suarez called up for Villa cup game!

think some people are slightly deluded when it comes to suarez. i think the majority of people who see him play regularly realise he's a fair distance off making an impact in the first team. last night showed that , was a passenger in the game until he was taken off

Difficult to judge him when he was making his first start in such a poor team performance. Id like to see him in the team when we are playing well and enjoying the possession- he was hindered by the fact we were so shit.

He was quiet, yes, bit I thought was he did he did well. Will definately fit in when we get our passing game back. Perhaps a championship loan in jnuary for the 2nd half of the season.

Don't like to knock our youngsters but he looked out of his depth. That said he wasn't helped by the overall poor performance. It would be harsh to say he'll never be good enough but he has an awful lot of improving to do if he's to become a regular first team player.

I thought Razzak looked the stronger prospect but he does have the advantage of being more physically developed. Suarez looks like he has some filling out to do yet.

IMO, both Suarez and Razak showed why they're not ready yet. Razak was the better of the two, but his decision making and his need of an extra touch let him down. He often made up for it, but he won't be able to do that against better teams.

Last night, before the game, me and my mate had a good chuckle listening to all around us getting giddy when it was announced that Razak and Suarez were playing.

Both of us are reasonably knowledgeable about the youths/reserves set-up, and both of us have said for some time that neither Razak nor Suarez will make it at City.

That's just the reality of it. In the past years, when we had far less strong teams, we let decent players go then as they weren't good enough, who were far more of a prospect than either of our two new superstar prospects.

Most people clamouring for their introduction into the first team squad are those who in all eklihood have never seen them play.

Harsh but true, they're not going to make it if better players such as Onuoha, Weiss, Whelan, Mills, Mee, Trippier, et al couldn't.

The sooner this proposed Academy is up and running and a top quality youth manager appointed, the better.

I agree, they should be transfer listed immediately.

I disagree with a lot of your post; onuoha did make it, whelan wasn't exactly the finished article when he was let go, while I just simply disagree that the likes of mee and trippier were better prospects. Ffs Suarez is 18, most youngsters seem to be here until they are 20 given the contracts they seem to get. Let's judge them when they are in their 20s shall we?

You judge them in their 20's, I'll judge them when it suits me.

fair do's?

EDIT

In all your times watching them play for the reserves/youths, at what point did you think they were both good enough for the City team?

You may think I'm being harsh on them, but you can only go by what you see, and even you must have seen their performances last night? But you're right, in two years time they might be good enough.

I just don't belive that. But I empower you to believe that if you so choose...

Surely that will come with experience?

I thought he did alright, quiet but looked tidy on the ball and didn't get any help because there was nothing behind him to give him the ball or give any backbone to the attack.

Would like to see him in a team with our good midfield as I think he'd make more of an impact.

Razak looked decent till he got tired then he went both physically and mentally, making some silly tackles and giving the ball away a lot after that.
