Suella Braverman - sacked as Home Secretary (p394)

Majors Govt hounded out by their own inadequacies
Browns Govt hounded out by their own inadequacies
This lot - constantly rewarded for their inadequacies

Welcome to gaslit Britain

Really. So they didn't lose the election based on the global financial crisis which the Tories successfully managed to blame on them?

Despite Brown preventing collapse of the payments system and economic and social chaos?

yeah I think so - basically I think by 10 - 12 years a govt in this country has run its course always has - this lot have overstayed their welcome and are now stinking the place out.

Was it MacMillan who said " events dear boy. events" ? - Iraq caught up with the Blair/Brown administration coupled with the financial collapse
Major was done by Back to Basics when his cabinet members going to jail and getting staff pregnant etc did for him.
Its the absolute power thing - after so long there are no new ideas no new faces and people get sick of seeing the same faces rehashing the same promises and lies from whichever Govt

What's the evidence for this?

The Tories didn't use this in their campaigns because they supported Iraq just as much if not more.

The Tories and libdems relied on telling everyone that Labour caused the financial because of excessive public spending and it worked. The electorate may have become complacent and bought-in to the false narrative of austerity, but it isn't really true to say that Labour became as excessive as the Tories or that there were no new faces.

Brown promoted Balls, Miliband brothers, Cooper, and Dianne Abbott was a minister under Brown. They weren't exactly the talentless simpletons given jobs by Boris, Truss, or Sunak.

read what I wrote - in a nutshell people get bored of the same faces and dredge up reasons to change their allegiences

For what they want they have absolutely failed, failing those that are supporting them on this exact point.

Do those who want to send refugees to Rwanda understand why yet?

Latest trick?
Well they need to do something surely,?
I admit the system needs sorting out and these ideas may not work but don't forget all these people coming here are costing tax payers a lot of money.
Labour haven't got s fucking clue on how to sort it, it wasn't one of Stramers 5 bullet points last week on his master plan.
Let them work and pay tax. Problem solved.

Brown was the polar opposite to Johnson. Intelligent, capable, principled, a man of stature on the world stage. But his lack of charisma didn’t play well in the cheap seats where in truth, maybe a third of the country don’t know anything about politics so just vote for the person they “like”. Brown also blew it by sounding a bit condescending about that woman from Rochdale. Sadly that’s what politics has become to a lot of people, just another X factor.
