You're confusing the Tory party with the electorate. He had broad appeal that would have persisted if we had not been nobbled by COVID. It was a golden opportunity to seize the red wall seats from Labour, deliver on what was promised and keep them blue for the foreseeable. I replied to you and I’m not a “leftie”. I’ve voted for all the parties. I simply comment sometimes on the most incompetent government in my lifetime, not by a bit, but by a million miles, which is what I did to you attempting to whitewash their disgrace.

The use of the infantile “lefty” and “woke” to anyone who happens to disagrees with the hard right politics of hate and division, in leu of a counter argument, has become one of the most popular tools of these political incompetents, by the way. You are not in good company.

A lot of rational people are angry at what these people have done over the last few years and so should you be. These are not normal times any more. This government have defiled UK politics and damaged us all, economically and culturally, and I have zero sympathy or empathy for anyone who enables or excuses this, however subtly.
