He cannot break with the past if he continues to have distractions. It was rather telling that as its second story this evening, the BBC chose to run its story on the Albanian migrants crossing the Channel, a choice which could be construed as mischievous editing. Either way, it only serves to pile further pressure on Braverman, and unless she can be seen to be getting a grip of that situation, then she might be facing flak on multiple fronts.

It’s a similar tactic to what he used with Johnson about the parties, there were rumours there’s more to come out about Braverman. Jake Berry is now backing that up publicly too so I wouldn’t be surprised if she doesn’t last long at all and he’s going to now be even more tainted by it.

Weak as piss. Sunak could have easily kept Berry's mouth closed for longer by keeping him in post or throwing him a bone in keeping him as a minister in some capacity.

As long as there are old scores to settle they will always be in chaos.

Sunak's opening PMQs were embarrassing and have shown him up to be a complete lightweight.

But the trouble is - she can't.

The civil servants will drag their feet, they are already moaning about her return to the role of Home Secretary. The Navy wont do it. Finally the law won't let it happen either.

It has just taken 7 years and half a million in public funds to get two convicted members of a Rochdale grooming gang to be deported to Pakistan - one appealed under human rights law saying he had to stay here to teach his child about right and wrong! - what a joke. I bet no plane ever flies to Rwanda - do we get our money back from that deal if that is the case? 38,000 so far coming across the channel - 1-2% of the Albanian male population and how much money have we paid France to help stop this? Do we get that money back too? It is all messed up.

It will cost the Torys the next election this, because 'border control' will have been the big issue that won the 'red wall' votes - Rishi Sunak even mentioned it on the steps of Number Ten yesterday. But they all make this promise (on both sides of the political divide - it was one of Ed Milliband's pledges on his Ed stone thing) but then they never do it.
