Summer Transfers

I applaud Tevez 4 players in strategy. I too often find it strange we buy so much. But every year the needs just seem their.

If I were to pick an absolute must 4:

GK: Ederson
RB: Heinrich
LB: Bernat
CM. Isco

That would be my minimum 4.

Then Mbappe, then CB.

For CB, we still have Otamndi, Kolarov & Stones

And for rb we can still renew contract of Zaba or Sagna

Clichy is out of contract too, so you're suggesting we go into next season with no improvement to 3 positions out of 4 in defence and 5 senior players to cover 4 positions?

Our attack doesn't need improving, we've a front 3 with an average age of less than 21 in Sterling, Sané and Jesus that any club in World football would sell their stadium for and this other lad called Sergio Aguero, you might have heard of him. Our defence has caused us big problems this season and may have cost us a shot at the title, let's get that sorted before buying luxury players in positions we don't need to strengthen.

+1

I'd take this all day mate!

GK: Ederson, Bravo

DEF: Heinrichs, Maffeo | Stones, Otamendi, Kompany, Van Dijk | Kolarov, Bernat

MIDS: De Bruyne, Silva, Isco, Gündoğan, Fabinho, Fernandinho

FOR: Agüero, Jesus, Sané, Sterling, Roberts

So much versatility in this squad, Kolarov can play CB, Heinrichs to cover both fullback, Fabinho and Ferna to fill in RB if needed, Isco & Gundo can play pivot.

I think it would be one or the other at CM and not both. Or else Garcia might as well be sold. He'd have a hard time getting games behind 5 mids for 3 jobs. He'll get nothing if there are 6 guys.

I like your defense though. Albeit I hope Kolarov is permanently kept at CB. And let the 3 fullbacks manage fullback and Dihno step in if 2 fullbacks are out due to injury and all.

I like your forward line. I think Mbappe gives us an edge Roberts doesn't. Because I think he actually will push Sterling and Sane for starting roles and that competition will make all 3 better.

But the counter to that claim is that there is already 3 wide players with Jesus being the 3rd. Who also happens to play striker. But that assumes Jesus can't beat out Aguero. He very well could, and if he does, then we only have 2 top end wingers and a backup. I'd rather have 3 competing starters who interchange based on who's hot on form and healthy. With all 3 pushing each other to the very top.

Bloody Isco, his name won't go away on this forum! We don't need him! He's average. He doesn't play in a position we need.

Keeper, full backs, centre back and a hard bastard defensive midfielder. That's all we need.

With Garcia, Nacho, Gunn and Maffeo taking club trained spots we'd have room for either Nolito or Nasri in there too.

Out of interest what is it with Monaco players that people think they will be moving. Great place to live, pay well and don't need the money. Or am I missing something??

More money, more trophies etc.

They've sold plenty of players in recent years.

They get paid well, but the difference is staggering. I remember reading Bernardo Silva is paid like 100k a month at Monaco, he'd get paid that in a week here.

Because we played them recently so our squad next season will be shit without them.

Monaco's ambitions are not the same anymore. The Russian billionaire who bought them, initially had planned to follow City and PSG model. Thats why Falcao and Moutinho are there. But their owner lost about half of his wealth in some court case I think. Monaco are now Porto, Benfica type club. Scout young stars and sell them on for big cash.

£2.6 billion divorce settlement.

No, no no. This is completely false. He tried to do the PSG route but saw he was too late with FFP, so they changed tactics to the buy young model they have now. Their ambitions are exactly the same, they are just going about it a different (and IMO much better) way than PSG.

And he did not lose half his money in a divorce. He didn't even lose £2.6m.

He offered her about $900m, she won the divorce and he was ordered to pay her $4.6m (this is where the rumours of losing half come from) but he successfully appealed and in the end she got only $500m - less than he offered her on day 1.

As of now, he's still got about $9 Billion, far more than the likes of Abramovic and more than enough to take the PSG approach to football ownership if he wanted to.
