Summer Transfers

Like the look of Raphael Guerreiro tonight, nominally a left-back but playing as a more central attacking midfielder tonight. Seems like he'd tick most of the boxes Pep would want for a left-back.

Lots of names bandied around, of course no-one knows for sure who we'll sign, and most if not all paper/twitter rumours can be discounted as bollocks.

If we are going to release/sell a lot of players currently on big wages, that would surely free up some space for a few new high earners?

In my opinion only (not saying it'll happen, or if it did that it'd be cheap), but purely from a personal point of view for the positions we need to strengthen, I'd love us to sign:

Walker (RB)
Rose (LB)
Laporte (CB)
Rakitic (CM)
Alli (CM)

And get Joe back in nets, with Willy getting an extension of another season.

That would be my ideal, though in reality I don't think any of it will happen.

I'd get rid of Delph, Fernando, Bravo, Bony, Navas, Nolito and Clichy.
And unfortunately I think time has caught up with super Zabba, maybe he'd stay as a coach/scout/resident legend.

Sagna is probably going too, which is a pity as he's our best full back, but again age is against him.

Will be sad to lose Nasri, I think he could have been good under Pep, but if he's not willing to do what the manager wants there's only one winner there.

We really should keep Kun at any cost. We can't have only one top striker, it's a squad game these days. Very few strikers around as good as him (there's probably only Neymar, Suarez, Costa or Lewandowski to choose from!) and none of those will be even remotely available, so pointless getting rid. I'd like to see Yaya get another season.

I can't understand why people are not mentioning that we need a CB. We are absolutely crying out for an imposing, commanding, domineering Centre Half to take the reigns of the Kompany.

Virgil Van Dijk would be the obvious choice. Commanding, strong, imposing, great aerially and very good with his feet. Also defends on the front foot which very much reminds me of how Kompany defendss. A typically intelligent dutch centre back who reads the game very well. Not seen that much Laporte to comment. Even if we spent 45m VDV it would be money well spent in my eyes. A massive upgrade on what we have.

Juan Bernat or Alex Grimaldo at left back, would much rather a very nifty, very cultured full back than a powerhouse with not much up top. Either of these two would fit the Guardiola profile for 30-35m

Difficult choice for right back, but I would go with Semedo of Benfica who looks lightning quick. Possibly costing around 35m.

Tiemoue Bakoyoko at defensive midfield would give us the physicality we need and possibly a tailor made replacement for Yaya. I would hazard a guess he could be costing around the 50m mark given the amount Pogba went for last summer.

I would personally like to see Joe Hart back but I doubt that will happen also.

So you have an imposing and physical centre back who can act as a leader for Stones, a left back with fantastic technical ability who can get up and down that flank all game long, a powerful right back who is explosive and a midfield destroyer who could add more physicality and another dimension to our midfield.

If Sanchez is also available in the summer on last year of his contract, I would also do everything I could to see him at the club.

Bravo out, Hart in
Sagna out, Semedo in
Clichy out, Grimaldo/Bernat in
Kolarov out, Van Dijk in
Fernando and Delph out, Bakayoko in with Garcia playing more regularly
Navas out, Pat Roberts in
Nolito out, A. Sanchez in

I would also look at bringing in Zinchenko, Unal and Moreno if there is any room for any of them.

Total money spent= Around 160-200m mark.

Unal is something special.
Believe me, I know as well as you do. I'm convinced if he gets a chance he will take it but the club hasn't done much in the last ten years to make me think he'll get a decent opportunity.

Please no Kyle Walker, I'd rather keep Zabaleta and Sagna as our options into their 40's than have to support that nasty little shit.

It's evident that we need to strengthen the defence and the CM department.

GK - Ederson or Rulli, personally think Donnarumma should be our no1 target purely because of his age and profile. He's insanely good.

LB - The dream is obviously David Alaba, but I think he's pretty much unattainable. For me Alex Sandro is the perfect choice, Juve are tough to deal with but a deal could be struck if the player wanted the move.

CB - Laporte has apparently been really poor this season. For me Van Dijk is the one to sign, he's absolutely world class and would improve us tenfold.

RB - Sidibe from Monaco? Haven't seen a lot but people seem to be hyping him up.

CM - Weigl is the dream, he'd be the absolute perfect Yaya successor, his passing between the lines is world class.

ST - IF Aguero goes, Aubameyang seems the likely choice.

A sensible list with realistic choices that we already know, by and large, are targets for Pep and City.

GK - Ederson Moraes would be first choice hands down, but Rulli is probably the more realistic option
LB - I'd like to see either Grimaldo or Bernat here. You have to expect Grimaldo is the easier get of the two, but if we are already in for Moraes...
CB - Laporte is still young, I think Pep could bring back the best of him. His price tag might be now unacceptable, but I'd be surprised if we didn't make another run for either him or Bonucci.
RB - Sidibe is a great choice here, Fabinho failing that.
CM - Weigl all the way, Pep gushes over him and he would have perfect synergy with our younger players.
ST - Aubameyang will cost a pretty penny, but I can see a situation where Aguero moves on. Dybala would be my choice here, but Auba is more realistic.

surely we need to buy some homegrown this summer. can't think of any quality english players though, except dele alli possibly, but he plays in our strongest position.

think we should pick up keane from burnley. be a good back up at CB and wouldn't cost £50m+

Isco will not be wearing a City shirt, we already have players who can do the job he does who we will be moving on Nasri being 1.
Let's be honest here this summer will be our biggest statement of in comings due to the fact we have so many out of contract freeing up massive wages to the tune of 1m a week that's not inc Ths possible sales of Hart, Bony, Delph, Nando, Kolarov, Mangala, Nasri. We could also be moving on our most successfull captain & the man who gave us & TV the best moment ever in football Agueroooooooo

Things will have already been sorted for a few of the out of contract players with New York, China or Australia a chance to see out there careers.

There is no doubt City & Pep hold all the cards this summer unlike last year the players simply would not go & wanted the last 12 months payday & bonuses, that ain't the case this July & things will be hot hot hot.

Me personally I would keep Kolarov & the way Yaya has played since his return has definitely helped the way Pep wants to go but £200.000 a week that ain't happening so unless he halfs that wage it's good night from him. Another player who is worth another 12 months is my hero Zaba, he certainly could do a job filling in & used as back up to Fabinho & Mafeo, Kolarov has been Peps love child & he has done well for me & he can play in many positions but again it will be his choice if offers from Europe come in not Peps IMO but he could play 2nd fiddle to Sandro or could it be Rose .
A keeper is a must but could Willy be playing for his future & Pep wouldn't think twice if he pulls of a top 3 finish & a good Champs or FA Cup run for me this is the 1 position that will catch us by surprise, remember we need to start giving Gunn a run out in games next season so it's either Ruli - Willy & Gunn on loan or Willy & Gunn as back up
Midfield is the hardest choice for me with so many attacking styles & Players but what we don't have is the most important ingredient that won us the league 3 years ago GOALS from midfield (Yaya) we blob so many chances & if we get rid of Yaya, Nasri & Siva the year after next we need to employ someone who will score us 18-20 goals (Lampard) style & for me if Gundagun stays fit he could save us the money to spend elsewhere but if he get another injury where going to need Sane, KDB & Sterling to all chip in with double figures which is possible but far to many chances go begging.
For me Ali or Greizman has to be on our agenda

I would go for-
Ruli (£7m) while cheap Willy to stay
Fabihio (25m)
Laporte (£55m)
Rose (£50m)
Bakayoko (30m)
Greizman (90m) if not Dybala.
All of these introduced into 1st team- Unal, Sancho, Brahim, Humphries.
Out-
Bravo
Mangala
Clichy
Delph
Fernando
Nasri
Yaya
Navas
Nolito
Roberts ( not going to get a sniff)
Adraibayo (loan)
Kelechi ( Prem loan)
How do you reckon we're going to keep Griezmann/Dybala, Aguero, Jesus, Sterling and Sané all happy?

Don't think Griezman would happen unless they get Sergio in exchange. Dybala I would sign but it's down to Aguero, Jesus is now the new kid on the block pair him Dybala & the pace of Sane-Sterling we have the quickest & deadliest front 4 in football.
