Summer Transfers

I understand the arguments about not needing offensive players, but dont agree with them. Should be comparing our team to 2 to 3 years ago, not this year where we were clearing 2-3 levels behind those teams. Cant lose Sane, Silva, Fernardino and potentially Bernardo from that starting 11 and not at least replace them with players that have close to there potential knowing we wont get a like for like player. It's more important now than ever to be targeting young players that can rotate in the squad with CAS rumors surrounding us

Reports were that Couto Will demain with the first team, so most likely rotating for cups game.

Now for left back is interesting. I cannot think of any available experienced left back that would fit play style & age wise, so going for a young talent would be best.

One youngster who I think is ready to be an understudy is Rayan Ait Nouri, 2001 born, playing for Angers League 1.

I'd rather buy a young english left back who has not just prem expierience but also in Arteta's team than a kid in France.

y nly issue with Pep and his trasnfer targets is his obsession with midfielders/attackers who seem to be all similar types - Bernardo, Aouar - along with Foden, and Gundogan dont offer to much difference you could add Mahrez to that list as well - Leroy offers something different and when we lose him we need to replace that with something at least similar that offers us a different dimension.especially outwide.

I hope we go for someone who offers a bit of pace on the outside and not just cutting in like Mahrez and Aouar would do

I wouldn't get my hopes up. I think he likes midfielders seeing how a lot of teams sit deep on us. I agree pace would be good, but not sure he sees it the same way. Remember how people questioned Leroy breaking down a low block? With Aouar he probably sees someone who can cut in from the left side to free up space for Mendy or Foden to make run toward the byline to make a cross. Right now the 2 right footed midfielders are KDB who is better on the right and Gundogan who isn't really creative and Aouar could be like a right footed Bernardo on the left.

Think you are pretty spot on there - i just dont rate mendy as an attacking threat (and he is a defensive liability as well at present) and Gundogan is the biggest weak link of all our midfielders

I see us only signing Aouar outside of defence but then premoting Braaf as another wing option.

Think it anybody but us the press wants him to go to, but someone has tapped him up and the press are fishing, in that it does look like us:)
Yeah we're usually very quiet about our interest in recent years except for maybe Rodri (that transfer saga was a bit dragged out to be fair).
