Summer Transfers

If Liverpool had more defensive injuries they would be relying on players like Lovren, Clyne and Hoever.

who out of our present options at in the back 4 would get into liverpools first team - Laporte

Walker is good but he would be back up to TAA

the rest -not a chance

Right so, last night was dreadful. Let's not recap. Transfers.

Sack off this godawful defence par Walker, Laporte and Garcia. Maybe Cancelo.
CB - Sign Koulibaly. I genuinely do not care how much. Then assess again in January if Dinho/Garcia/Tosin as backup aint cutting it
LB - Really do not care who it is as long as the starter next season isn't called Benjamin Mendy, Oleks Zinchenko or Angelino.
RB - Either keep Cancelo a year or two until that Couto lad is good enough or bring someone experienced in until so.

DM - I'm fine with Rodri, Gundogan? Off to Serie A mate. Thanks but goodbye. Get Camavinga. Young, looks incredible, understudy.
CM - KDB, Foden, Bernardo and Aouar. Do it.

LW - Sancho and tell Sane to get Bayern to pay up.

ST - Get Havertz. Can't be arsed with the shitshow we saw last night - someone like Havertz would be perfect up there.

Massive window yes, lots of money yes, but its what Liverpool did with VVD, Alisson etc. It's what we did in 2017. Do it again. Win the lot next season.

Just a heads up, if we sell a lot of players and sign a bunch of new ones, the squad would be temporarily unsettled (as in how they play, not morale wise) adjusting to new players and those new players would need time to settle. If you're willing to look past next season then it's fine but wholesale changes won't bring in immediate results.

I don't expect anything to be unsettled by bringing in a world class CB and a winger/striker to replace Sane. We are currently playing a CM at CB because Pep doesn't like two of the CB's we have and Sane hasnt been around for 12mths.

That's 2 or 3 transfers though. That's not what I was talking about at all.

Although I do agree with your point anyhow.

The core of the squad that will remain(14 outfield players) Is a very elite core, and will be our first choices for the Starting XI.
so we won't be able to use that excuse.

It's only after after Matchweek 2, when our annual Murphy's Law starts up again, that some of the new addition would be expected to contribute as a starter right away.

The club are going to have to realise if they want to stay in the races and not play catch up at some point then there is need for an overhaul - it happens at all clubs when abolulte legends of the game who have won us title after title start to age - we have lost Zabba, yaya and Kompany - we will lose David Silva this year, and in the next 12 months Aguero and Ferna

Now we all hope that Foden can take Silvas place and it looks like he will - he deserves the cahne to and so far he is giving everyone reason to believe that he can fill that gap - but David Silvas ability to conduct a game has come with years of expereince and that is the one thing that Foden naturally lacks and we will miss

Kompany - it was always going to be a huge ask to replace him not just on the pitch but off it - we havent done it and we need to and it must be priority number one.

Ferna is another huge loss when it happens - i still believe he is the best defensive midfielder at the club and should be being played there and should be played their next year if we can sort the centre half out. Rodri is decent enough but he doesnt have that mobility and Gundongan is a waste of space for me

the biggest is yet to come - how do you replace Aguero - we will get another 12 months out of him and i dont think age will knock him too much -he has already adapted his game and 12 months more and he will bang in another 20 + for us - BUT we must be planning to replace him now. As good as Jesus is we do need another goal scorer - Sterling isnt a natural finisher as good as he is and though Foden adds goals players like Kun win you titles (literally at times!) -Jesus doesnt have that killer instinct - maybe its somethign he can develop but you would have hoped that he would have it now- he doesnt seem to have improved since he came here

On top of that you ahve the poor buys that are letting us down: Mendy, Cancello being two of them. Surely we can sell Cancello on and get some decent money back and even just selling Mendy at a loss and adding some money into a pot to then go out and get someone would be better than having him still. He fucks up too regualrly and for a defender he is useless - anyone who watches the reserves/under 23's - surely there has got to be some one that can come in and do a job at left back!!!??

there is no way we can go into a season with a core squad of 14 players backed up by kids - one or two injuries (which we WILL get) and we would be in big trouble

When you say the club are going to have to realise. Realise what. I don’t think anyone at the club are willing to rest on their laurels or let things slide. They will be assessing what went wrong , though if we finish second and win the cups we are still in not a great deal wrong. They , CAS permitting will act on what needs to be done. Don’t know why you would doubt they would realise that,

Tbh, very few if any of us know how the club are feeling about this summer. Theres links and the ITKs obviously have their info but all we can go off is that and own personal feelings. I hope its an overhaul, last night as many games have this season simply reiterated the need for it. Lets fucking have it boys

I honestly don’t think an overhaul is needed, obviously a centre back to play alongside Laporte and a left back, that would transform the defence and help Rodri, don’t have any issue with Gundogan as Rodri back up. The forward midfield of Foden, KDB, Bernardo maybe plus 1. Attackers Jesus, Sterling , Mahrez Aguero, plus 1 maybe with an eye to replacing. So thats a c.b, lb, mid, attacker, maybe Laporte back up. So 5 players but only 2 that need to be first team ready. Get it right with the young players emerging those 5 would set us for a couple of years.

Will they though

If you look at the transer dealings since Pep arrived it doesnt fill me with confidence.

A CB and a LB would do a world of good for the team.

2 required signings and one probably someone in attack/Midfield depending on what they plan to do with Foden

Struggling to see the bad buys during the Pep era really,

Danilo and Cancelo perhaps, but we made our money back on Danilo. Both been decent backup for Walker and Cancelo we will move on this summer if needed. Neither has overtaken Walker but then Walker has been consistent for over three years now and you could argue Danilo and Cancelo have helped him keep his consistency.

Bravo, been a good servant since Ederson came in as number one so can't argue too much with that. I admit his career started badly.

Nolito, we basically made our money back.

Mendy and Stones the big money "failures" but they have both been riddled with injuries. Both were up there in their respective positions at their age groups so the transfers made sense at the time.

Anyone else?

Im guessing you are judging whether they are not bad buys or not whether they are financially sound or not

Nolito was a failure on the pitch and didnt want to stay
Mendy has been fucking awful and a waste of money.
Cancello cant even make it ontot he pitch
Bravo - good cup keeper but pretty awful in the league
Walker and Laporte along with Bernardo are successses
Rodri - jury still out on him
Gundogan - weak link
Jesus -good player bu he aint going to replace Kun not matter how much people support him - good second striker however.
Stones- just not upto it mentally it seems.
Sane -hit and miss on the pitch at times and doesnt want to stay

Id say thats pretty average

PSG the only daft fuckers who will pay €90m & €250.000 a week for soon to be 29 year old, saying that it's only a piss poor Sunday League so its piece of piss for his last 4 years, if UTD had any spending money & in Champs League then they would splash out although he wouldnt come & play in England
Nice take mate.

I guess you are fuming with the news of City trying to sign him for around 80 M€.
