Sunday Supplement 15/16

Ha. I was referring to the academy and how shit the rags is compared to us. Then like you amazed at best player after messi and ladyboy.

Our academy is currently just as shit as the rag's - neither producing a first team player for many years

Apparently we have more potential though but I'm not seeing anyone coming through

(Am not sure we can claim kelechi as one we have nurtured through the academy and brought through)

Ever heard of long term planning?

It's only been open for a year, come back in 3 or 4 years time to judge our academy.

This is an absurdly short sighted viewpoint. Anyone who cares to study the subject knows that our academy is now light years ahead of theirs and you will see the fruits of that in our first team over the next decade.

Any blowing of smoke up Kuns arse by these charlatans will be at a cost, probably the narrative that Real are buying him.

never drop your guard blues as these cunts dont do positive about us without a cost!

I like your scepticism.
Kun being top of the range is old news to every supporter with a pair of eyes. It's rewarding (not to mention surprising) to hear him receive due recognition but they're not at it for purely altruistic reasons.
These fuckers don't report the news, they sell stories.

That's not really true though is it? The CFA officially opened a year ago, but all the scouting and coaching changes took place long before that opening date.

Disingenuous to pretend the academy is only a year old.

And if if were only a year old then it would take a lot longer than 3/4 years to see results.

You make two entirely valid points, mate. Academies are like oil tankers, which is why united are so fucked imo.

As it is to pretend it hasn't produced many first team players that have gone onto represent the first team and also have careers elsewhere.

Going forward though this academy is all about creating that world class talent, the next Messi or Neymar with the vast majority probably not being good enough for our first team but good enough for us to make a very nice profit from.

its state of the art and its the best in world football right now and there can be no arguments about it imo.

That's fair, but the changes that took place 4 or so years ago or when Txiki arrived, with perhaps 13 year olds benefiting will probably just be showing results with our U18 s , who are top of the league, so the results will start feed through in the next year or two. But yes it's not just about the buildings.

Until one new academy player makes it into the squad, let alone the first XI post-takeover, there will rightfully be arguments about it.

We can laud the infrastructure as much as we like, and enjoy the u18s smashing everyone, but until someone makes it into the team, it seems absolutely ludicrous to call it the best in world football.

This is all very premature. We've put in some nice foundations and you're already bragging about having the best mansion.

I agree to call it the best in world football is far too hasty, but a poster was trying to equate it with united's set up which is patently absurd.

Kalechi?

Several others regularly making the match day squad and bench?

I dont get the scepticism from some on here and the downer on what is an incredible facility i really dont.

Kalechi really? He's not an academy product, we signed him at 18.

And having Tosin or Maffeo taking bench spots when we've got an injury crisis (but never once playing) is hardly a ringing endorsement of our academy.

I'm not being skeptical or a downer I'm simply being realistic. The academy is embryonic, it's done nothing so far and some people are getting far to ahead of themselves in hailing it as "the best in the world" it before it's actually done anything at all.

I respectfully disagree. Any other club in England with this facility and the footballing media and world would be wanking itself into a frenzy.

Our academy has over the years produced talent that has gone on to represent the club and also have successful careers elsewhere despite the media driven narrative that it just doesn't produce players.

As for Kalechi, had the rags or anyone else for that matter signed him and introduced him, they would be praised to the high heavens and he would be classed as one of their own and i see no reason why we shouldn't do the same or be afforded the same slack.
