Disappointed naturally, but not surprised, although I did think we would keep the dream alive until we faced Pulis @ Palace. Collectively we lack the mental fortitude and hard-nosed professional ruthlessness to get the job done. Summer recruitment has to address this.

Nothing surprises me at our great club so not to dissapointed...We lack a mental strength for some strange reason and with a soft underbelly that we have results like last night will always happen.

This has gone viral on Twitter among the haters. I guess it was taken early or late, but to be honest it was awful for a title run-in (or what was a title run-in till the game ended). The game was nearly sold out, there must be a lot of sick dogs and night shifters.

Notice how you can't see the scoreboard?

That could be 30 seconds into the game.

I go back to Pellers saying [in January?] that we are going for four trophies and then proceeding to overeplay our most important players.

Since August, I thought that Chelsea would win it with a fresh impetus from Jose. Liverpool have just been lucky with a lack of games and [so] fewer injuries. A bit freaky and flukey, quite frankly. So if we come a decent third and score around 150 goals in all competitions, then it's not so bad, although I still believe that it is an underachievement, for both this season and last.

But it's not even over yet. Even if it will be shortly, I'd rather trust Pellers with the summer cheque book than Rodgers.

the only thing that disappointed me was we could all see it wasn't working but we sat on our hands.

Despite the good home results it's not the first time lower teams have come to the Etihad and given us a scare. Palace, Cardiff and Hull played well for large spells. Tonight it looked like they had 12 players on the pitch. They were well organized worked extremely hard. The sad thing is they will probably go down which says it all really. Pathetic !!!

More disappointed last night. Sunday we showed fight, desire, belief, passion to get back into game, dodgy ref decisions and an individual error cost us. Last night nothing, no desire, passion or backbone

Nothing we haven't seen before. Sunderland well organized, soft ref turns blind eye to O'shea and Brown's antics. At least for once Sunderland's goals were legit. Some poor individual performances last night.
