Sunderland Vs City Post match Discussion Thread

ithout Silva in the past we have struggled to break teams down. Should have started withe the team that started the second half.

Navas isn't great but he gives us another option. We always looked likely to score form that wing if the goal came.

i am starting to worry about peller's tactical ability - he is making far to many mistakes for someone supposedly being a top manager

i thought de michellis was the one positive from todays game.

Thought he looked ponderous and slightly lightweight, not saying he directly affected the result of the game, but I am not really impressed so far, doesn't seem any better than what we already have. Was hoping he might sure us up at the back especially with Komps being out for a while.

I think Nasri has been one of our best players this season. He was our best player today too for me.

I don't disagree about Garcia, Navas and Dzeko though.

Think he has been ok so far this season, but today was his chance to shine and be the main man with silva out injured and I thought he just did his usual neat touches, lightweight performance. In fairness to him the whole team just seemed to lack any urgency and movement, our only tactic in the end was to shift the ball wide and get navas to whip it in and his final ball is dreadfull

Here's an idea mate....why not effin try as hard against the other top 6 teams? I really hope you lot go down.

Had a clear goal disallowed against Arsenal, would have brought it back to 2-2, might have changed that result... Should have beat your city rivals, probably would have but for Januzaj, Rooney & RVP both asleep that day... You know what they say, when it rains it pours...

Personally think Poyet will get us playing football again, has definitely started to, hope it's enough to secure our safety come May but we'll just have to see...

Yeah, lots of football from your lot today, reminded me a bit of the Ajax early 70's total football....not. A bit like the football you played at Hull last week as well? Frankly, Sunderland are tedious to watch.
What did you expect them to do today? Try playing us at our own game and get their arses handed to them? They set their stall at very well today and deserved all 3 points. You can't fault teams for playing like that against us when it so clearly and consistently works.

If we can stop conceding sloppy goals, mitigate individual errors and avoid getting so many defensive injuries I think we will be ok. Not panicking too much yet.

Keep the faith blues.

You don't have to tell me mate, but we are improving, especially as I say at home.

Played out wide away he isn't as effective. With Silva out he should have been played in front of Garcia and Yaya. Bad management again.

Just pick yer P45 up on the way out will yer!

Ok don't have a go at me for not being a regular on here,I'm not looking for an argument with fellow blues.I honestly thiught Pellers got it right at Chelsea and that he'd learnt from recent away results. How wrong was I.It doesn't need a football genius to tell you that the players he replaced, today, without need, was a complete and utter disaster.Richards was out of his depth ,Kolarov is not a left back,Garcia has no confidence,Yaya doesn't know how to track back, bringing on zabaletta to late ,Where was Rodwell?.Navas did well getting outside his man and crossing albeit some of his crosses were too low ,no one on front post, augero run his socks off AGAIN,and I honestly think Demichellis is fitting in very good seeing as the back four were changed AGAIN.its so fucking frustrating watching a team score 7 then 5 in 6 days and then a completely different team turn up at our bogey ground with two weeks off to follow.for FUCKS SAKE someone from city read this forum and have a word with the management team.it really makes me think that your all having a week off just because we're playing away.Well get with the program and earn your fucking wages and our hard earnt ticket prices. Thanks for reading,I needed too get that off my chest

It's not about how I expected them to play, of course I expected them to sit back and defend for their lives...I merely commented on the previous posters dubious assertion that Sunderland are" playing football again"....what I saw from them today was not what I call football....including that shocking tackle on Garcia.

I actually said "get us playing football again"...
