Super Joey Hart?

If he'd have caught the ball earlier in the move (which he could and should have) there'd have been no penalty.

But if Hart had booted it up field instead of short changing Fernando it would have been 1-0 at half time

He didn't short change him at all. At the time of his pass Ibra was nowhere near. It was his shit first touch that bounced off his foot that invited Ibra in and his shit attempt at a clearance that deflected the ball in the net. Had he controlled it and passed it on like you'd expect a professional footballer to be able to do we wouldn't even be discussing this.

I'm far from his biggest fan but I don't see how he can reasonably be blamed for either goal. One was almost entirely Fernando's fault, and the other was as much about poor marking and a missed offside, as it was his keeping.

Decent penalty save too.

Hart can see the whole pitch in front of him. He is the senior pro. To pass that ball there at that time is criminal.
I'd argue he could have held the ball for their second.

I'm a Joe Fan, but he was toss all night tonight. Fingers crossed it was first game back nerves. He's been largely outstanding in Europe for us.

There is the entire length of the D between Fernando and Ibra and Joe and Sagna are standing there to receive a pass back. Fernando's poor footballing skills cost us.

Great penalty save.
But why has he forgotten how to catch the ball?
Poor distribution to Fernando.
Why nobody on the posts for the goal we conceded?
Who is poorly coaching Joe to always punch?

We telegraphed what we were doing. Two players split right and left, usually CBs. Two push up the wings, usually FBs. Midfield drop back to collect the ball from keeper. It was too obvious and Ibr. read it.

The ball is still 12 yards from him there, it's a rolled pass and Ibra is 7 yards away. His only out ball is on his weak foot across the box. All this at 1 up with 4 minutes till half time. On that still, Fernandinho is the last person to pas to.

This is football though, I was sat with 5 blues, two rags. They all shared my opinion, the lad I have a season ticket with shares you. Certainly subjective.
