Super Joey Hart?

Thought he had a reverse Fernando today. Fernando had a very good match with one shockingly shit moment, whereas Hart had a pretty poor match with one fantastic moment. I don't attach much blame to him for the first goal, although it was a completely pointless thing to do as Fernando had absolutely nothing positive he could have done with it and is surrounded by three men in any direction he might want to turn, it is still almost entirely Fernando's fault for not rolling it straight back to Hart and making him kick it.

His refusal to even try and catch the ball under any circumstance annoys me endlessly though and it just keeps attacks alive and gives the other team more chances. When a keeper catches it it completely lifts the pressure and is a huge boost to the whole team. He seems to have lost all confidence in his ability to catch even the most routine of balls under no pressure

Great penalty save.
But why has he forgotten how to catch the ball?
Poor distribution to Fernando.
Why nobody on the posts for the goal we conceded?
Who is poorly coaching Joe to always punch?

Would agree with all but one point.
There's no one on the post to catch the secondary run offside. Ibra was off side.

I fully agree he needs to be catching the ball more and I have no idea if he's been told not to try by the coaches or if he just thinks he's gonna do a Norwich each time. Either way it's something he should be working on.

The ball is still 12 yards from him there, it's a rolled pass and Ibra is 7 yards away. His only out ball is on his weak foot across the box. All this at 1 up with 4 minutes till half time. On that still, Fernandinho is the last person to pas to.

This is football though, I was sat with 5 blues, two rags. They all shared my opinion, the lad I have a season ticket with shares you. Certainly subjective.
Barca do this all the time. The pass is actually back to hart when ibra commits and hart would play it left to a wide open Clichy who now has time and space. Trouble is I don't think they trust hart. Plus fernandos first touch was dire.

He was offside but did that really affect Joe's keeping in that incident. I'm not sure it did

I thought he had a poor game, penalty apart. But as he said in the interview we win and lose as a team

Maybe he wasn't quite 100% and was playing safe with the punching.

I don't think fernando realised Ibra was there. he passed it thinking he was miles off.

Harts performance tonight, at the highest level was a curates egg for me. Some fantastic moments, but lets face it some poor moments as well.

Great result, 2 away goals in the bag, should stand us in good stead and I just hope we can see the job through....CTID

You're probably right. It was a proper brain fart from fernando.
hart's decision was worse because he could see them both. fernando was asleep not expecting the ball and therefore not aware of where Ibra was. But even though it was a cock-up the chances that fernando passes it, and it hits Ibra and goes in were tiny, but there you go it ends up in the back of our net which of course it would.
