Super Joey Hart?

Brilliant as a keeper, not so good as a footballer.
His distribution is far less important than his shot stopping. His stats will be back to the top one or two once we stop pissing about with the defence.
He's going to have to improve that distribution though. I don't think there's any doubts about that.

Great interview with Schmeichel in the Times. If you don't have access, to summarise, he talks about the amount of time he spends analysing the top goalkeepers like Neuer and Buffon. Also mentions how he played outfield for Denmark in international training sessions and how he wants to give confidence to his defence that they can push up and he will be sweeping.

This is borne out by the stats that show he has done the most clearances outside the penalty area.

The other interesting point was he talked about fatigue, not physically, but what he calls concentration fatigue, he mentions after games he is mentally tired having to be so switched on all game. This is my biggest criticism of Hart, he clearly switches off. That throw in against West Ham was classic. Yes Otamendi switched off but Hart had the full picture, he had plenty of time to see the throw and yet the first touch to score was in his six yard box!! Criminal.

I absolutely love Joe Hart don't get me wrong, and if he addresses his distribution and gains consistency, and improves his concentration, he can be up there with the absolute best. It's clearly not a lack of ability, as can be testified by some of the wonder saves he has made but he has to do it game in, game out and for me, this season in particular the team have been let down by his mistakes.

Cant see him leaving but even if he did, I also read somewhere Courtois wants out of Chelsea if we didnt get stergen. Dont know if theres any truth in that though.

As shite/cheesy as that Achy breaky Joe Hart song is might be a good time to start belting it out at our remaining fixtures. At the moment easily in top 10 GKs in the world can only improve under Peps guidance. Brilliant ambassador for this club and has been here from the start, don't want him to go anywhere.

It's all well and good sweeping if you manage to get the ball to a team mate. Kasper's passing accuracy is 34%.

Yes, get rid of a consistent, home-grown player who is playing 1st choice for his country.

Harts kicking is poor at the moment but we should judge him when there is players in the team dropping for the ball and defenders in position to take it

Another clean sheet today, looking more secure at the back, says it all, get rid !

Perhaps that's also down to a return of a certain Mangala. If this guy is in Pep's plans I can see one or two on here earring some apple pie. He just needs a regular partner and sound defensive tactics.

Think Hart's distribution is better than people on here give him credit for. His biggest weakness is the speed he gets down for low shots struck from outside the area, especially to his low left. Still think he's up there with the best in Europe and there's a dozen players you'd replace before you get to him. On top of that he is English.
