Never gonna happen,too many would be missing out on the money,they want a closed shop so certain clubs can grab even more,the days of just the league winners entering the European cup/champions league is unfortunately long gone ..
 
FIFA just announced a Club World Cup in 2025, consisting of 32 teams. Something to counter the threat of a Super League?

It's to stop FIFA only earning money every 4 years.

I like it, we'll have the usual people who complain about anything new coming out of the woodwork, but ultimately it stops european clubs having to go to a tournament in December and moves it to where pre-season friendlies would have been once every 4 years.

It will probably be quite fun.

Drop a preseason tour of China once every 4 years and instead play competitive games against some of the biggest clubs from around the world. Boca Juniors, Independiente, River Plate, Sao Paolo, Palmeiras, some of the Mexican clubs, Egyptian and Saudi ones.

The club world cup is a massive deal in South America, beating the CL winners is a real milestone of a great South American side.

If you only cared about the world cup, we'd only watch football every 4 years.

If only the very best standard football was interesting, there'd only be 20 clubs in the country and not 200.
