I’m not trying to start a thread for the sake of it, it’s clear as day how we feel.

We all know the downside, so let’s keep them to the other threads.

But to play devils advocate, what are the actual positives here?
One I can think of is the broadcasters need a kick up the arse.

It’s 2021 and we still cannot watch 4K premier league football or champs league thanks to sky and bt. We’re being charged a fortune for a last gen experience.

Will this prompt referee reform?

I thought, as I tucked my kids in to bed tonight, that I had all I needed in life. But not having the ability to watch football in 4K has made me realise how empty my life actually is. I’ve just checked the TV and nope, I can only see one picture. I have no idea what 4K is, I only know I don’t have it. And so, if this ESL thing means I can fill that gaping lacuna in my life, then it’s a yes from me.

Feels like the acrimonious split in darts with the existing set up being the BDO and the proposed set up being the PDC which is a far higher standard and generates far more revenue. Is that positive?

I’m old school and still class the BDO holder as the rightful, linear champion. And yes, the standard is miles higher on the PDC. But Jocky never played for that title so I’ll always be a BDO man!
