VERY interesting to hear Stuart Brennan supporting de Jong, just now!
One week the tackles in the game are showing the passion and commitment of the Premiership City vs Chelsea), next week the very same tackles are condemned by all those never to have kicked a ball in the Premiership. NDJ won the ball fair and hard. Great player, great qualities I hoe he doesn't change.
He shouldn't get banned, replays show that Atkinson's view was not obscured, no Newcastle players reacted, neither did the linesman, and all pundits on the day had no issue with it.
Sure he'll get banned, surely nobody at City thinks we'll be allowed to field NDJ against Arsenal do they? Not poor little Arsenal they can't face 'thuggish De Jong'!

On talksport now hawksbee and jacobs having a disagreement about the intent side of the challenge now. after an interview with the muen city reporter
Fair play to the chap, he stood N.d.j's corner well and put up a reasoned arguement, but whichever of these two is a chelsea fan (Hawksbee i think) flew off the handle and made himself sound very silly. The muen fella kept his cool and stood his ground.
Sick of hearing about it and seeing it now. Accident, end of. However our Nige will be given a hard time by officials and fans for the rest of the season.

That's what they do though mate, he probably doesn't agree with what he said anyway.
I have just checked online (Soccerbase) not sure how accurate the info is, but according to that Nige has had 26 yellow cards - since 2001, in all competitions (and that includes international) - and most importantly NO REDS! Not exactly the stats of a maniac are they?
