Supporters Club tickets

Can someone clarify whether branches are free to give their allocated tickets to anyone or must they be allocated to those with the correct points. There appears to be confusion on here as it appears that there are no rules for some but the are for others. What is the point of a points system if only 40% as appears to be the case for Burnley have to adhere by it. The club needs to address the issue very quickly as these discussions will continue to crop up.

I hold my hands up here and say that I passed my ticket on quite a lot last season. To a young lad who is a Cityzen (or whatever they’re called) whose grandparents sit behind me, and to my own family members, again with the membership including my 6 yr old great-grandson and my Canadian daughter in law. I am not apologising for it because at the beginning I put it on the exchange but I didn’t know who it was getting my seat then.
When I say passed it on, the young lad’s grandparents insisted on paying me for the ticket. I know that lad loves City and will be a fan all his life. I also know that the family members are City through and through and d-i-l had a season ticket for years before she went to Canada in 2000.
It was either that or let my seat go empty because sometimes I didn’t know until the day or the day before whether I would be well enough to attend.
So the ‘passing on to a mate’ may not always be suspect or whatever but a necessity.
As I say I make no apologies I’ve done the hard times and I was not prepared to risk losing my hard earned season card because I couldn’t make the matches!
Don’t worry, all things being equal I’ll be back for the Newcastle game!! Without anyone’s help for a ticket but my own perseverance!! :-)
JMHO
Let’s be honest who hasn’t helped a mate/relative with match tickets?

We’ve all done it, and if you haven’t you’re a shit mate/relative.

Holier than thou attitude is hilarious.

Branches can do what they want. There's no OSC rule about how they allocate tickets. Some do it by ballot, some by attendance, some by points, some by rota.

Tim or someone may correct me but my understanding is that they have to enter the supporter numbers of the persons the tickets are allocated to, who have to be attached to that branch, and the recipients then have to pay City within 24 or 48 hours or lose the ticket.

The Tampa Bay Blues have applied for tickets - I had one for Arsenal away last season so clearly didn't meet the points criteria.
We probably asked for no more than 10 tickets all season (majority home.games) and received them.all.

And many of us, me included, have also taken advantage of that over the years by accepting tickets from friends or family, or even from people on here via the ticket threads.

So if you've ever been offered a ticket for yourself, or a mate who wouldn't otherwise have got one, and said "No thanks. Give it back to the club so someone with the points can have it", or you've demanded the ticket forum be shut down so people can't ask for tickets, then you have some right to be holier than thou. Otherwise pipe down.

Having a 100% system (and I could take it or leave it) would be great if we were trying to reduce the size of our fan base and knock a tier of the Etihad. We are trying to the opposite.

How Branches allocate tickets will vary between them.

The Club prioritised addressing Away tickets through City Matters and we got a worse system than the one before. It might have worked but all the moaners made sure the ID cos went by the wayside.

Exactly - if those preaching on here are ever seen on the ticketing forum, I expect they’ll be directing those with spares back to the ticket office to be “fairly” sold to those with the highest points (or more likely by the club to the corporate allocation)

Celtic away has a lot to answer for!

No idea if they sourced their own tickets. Branches were informed that the Jakarta request to the OSC was rejected,
I’m 100% sure overseas branches who apply for tickets don’t receive them from the OSC allocation any requested are passed directly to MCFC and they decide whether to allocate them can’t really pin this one on supporters club. I met quite a few Japanese in fan park outside ground apparently club had sent them 50 tickets fair journey from there, all had brand new shirts and scarfs price of success. That said everyone in cup scheme had a chance too.
