Swansea (a) Post Match Thread

I was looking at the EFC report this morning, and it appears that GazBaz has been voted fans' and players' player of the season. I am pretty certain that we would not have been scratting about on the last day for fourth place had he been sitting in front of Otters and The Mangler for most of the season. One of the most scandalous decisions taken to ship him out!
totally agree. he was desperate to stay. bad move city.

We will have to agree to disagree regarding Ota. I think both will still be here next year too

Again on the pretense that we will have to agree to disagree, i think both are truly mediocre at best (although a Blue gave me a tip halfway through the season about playing the Benny Hill tune in my head when we are defending and this helped enormously!) and a shocking waste of a lot of money to boot! Stop pissing around and buy the best there is available.... I cant believe that Mangala caught the French squad as he really struggles for me and his deer in a headlight approach when he is on the ball sometimes is really scary!

In theory letting Gareth Barry go was sensible - shifting older players out and replacing with younger and more enthusiastic lads. But we only really managed half the equation!
It's been true of a fair few players we've let go in pursuit of improvement. So far, we've not been very adept at it.

You don't think it might be anything to do with how open and exposed both have found themselves this season? I take it pep will shore up the middle which will help the defence enormously. Time will tell though.

barry, dejong and milner = aggressive workaholic duracell bunnies.

its what we didnt replace

I think Otamendi and Mangala are fast becoming scapegoats. I'm not saying they've had world-beating performances, but our poor midfield has exposed them to more pressure than previous defences (of the modern era).

There's been plenty of mistakes, of course - but I don't think they are terrible by any means. You need only look Mercello and Pepe to see other players with a penchant for rash behaviour!

Was it me, or did Swansea look rather insipid for the final 15 minutes. I was dreading a goal in the last 5 minutes but the Swans looked content to play it out ?
