They've obviously over watered the pitch to tire out both sides.
Horrible, his knee hyper-extended by some degree. Said it was a red in real time even before I saw the replayLooks absolutely horrific in slow mo/still image. It's a definite red but I don't think that was as bad as it looks in that I don't think there was intent.
Ukraine lad is going to be fortunate if he hasn't done his ligaments there, he's hobnligg around the pitch like he's done his meniscus.
What the fuck is this commentator on? He's just said it's a good job it stays light in Glasgow as they could be playing until dawn. They've got floodlights haven't they?
Outstretched straight leg caused the damage. All his weight was in that challenge. He could have bent his leg to minimise it.If the ball is bouncing at around shin/knee height and you want to clear the ball high and long, please explain how your follow through can be anything other than high?
Unfortunately it’s a red card Ric plain and simple ..He won the ball tbf. It was only momentum that took him through. Slow motion often makes a challenge look worse than it actually was.
Hence it’s a red cardSerious foul play is straight red, defined as:
"A tackle or challenge that endangers the safety of an opponent or uses excessive force or brutality must be sanctioned as serious foul play.
Any player who lunges at an opponent in challenging for the ball from the front, from the side or from behind using one or both legs, with excessive force or endangers the safety of an opponent is guilty of serious foul play."
Excessive force
Endangers safety
Getting a piece of the ball, winning the ball and other such clichés don't matter.
