We got this against Southampton a couple of seasons back:

The problem with football fans is people only scream about it when it goes against them. There's no doubt in my mind that the offside rule needs a video replay. It's impossible for anybody to be able to get it correct everytime.

Yesterday the officials were Mark Clattenburg, S Beck and J Collin. We conceded 4 goals with 2 of them clearly offside.

Interestingly it was the same official (Beck) who GPC had a big spat with a couple of seasons ago, claiming that his decision making was shocking and questioning his integrity as an official during the game. That was just after their match with...Spurs.

Depending on what verbal interchange there was between Crappenberg and MDM there ought to be a facility for lodging a video of the howler the lino made and then to have the card rescinded. If it was along the lines of "Excuse me, Mr Crappenberg, I wonder if it would be possible for the linesman to explain his understanding of the offside law, at his earliest convenience" I can't see why not. If it was a case of a few chosen words in South American Spanish with a Glaswegian accent - "Hey, Jimmy . . . . . . . . . . . " then we can forget it!

What's that proving? the ball is going into dzeko, silva is stood in an offside position but not interfering. Would need to see the full passage of play for it to prove anything. I personally have no recollection of this at all or any controversy in a goal v southampton. Anyone help here?

After a match between the rags and chavs he was demoted to the Championship for 7 games together with Mike Dean, after failing to raise his flag when Drogba was clearly offside. GPC wrote it up in his match report to the officials and the Professional Game Match Officials Limited decided the mistakes were serious enough to demote both Dean and Beck.

The decision to demote was alleged to have been made without any interference from Old Trafford. Hmm...

What's that proving? the ball is going into dzeko, silva is stood in an offside position but not interfering. Would need to see the full passage of play for it to prove anything. I personally have no recollection of this at all or any controversy in a goal v southampton. Anyone help here?

Dzeko is passing Silva the ball. Silva then passes it to Nasri who scores.

I would need to see the clip of the goal to be sure, with photoshop it's easy to create a picture like this to suit your argument. Can you link to the clip? For all I know silva my have got himself back onside with the saints defence retreating and silva getting himself back onside.

Exactly what we should be doing. Pisscan for all his obnoxious traits created a legacy of fear for officials that still stands today. They knew if they fucked up against them, they wouldn't be seen near the swamp for a good while.

Pellegrini should have ripped into that useless **** at the end of the game and made it clear exactly what he thought to him and the press.
