Syria | Assad flees to Moscow as rebels capture Damascus

A couple of things that don't really make sense with this, all these prisons being opened and everyone being freed, is there nobody in the prison for doing bad things? All just imprisoned by the bad guy because he didn't like them?
And why did asaads lot just give up all of a sudden? Doesn't sound like there was much of a battle for Damascus, sounds like the rebels just drove in and asaads lot just legged it, why didn't the rebels try that before? All seems a little strange

conspiracy time and Im probably just putting 2+2 together and getting 5. there was that plane that had an odd flight path the other day that some suggested may have been Assad's plane. there were rumours ( all very unconfirmed ) that the Russians had addicentally shot it down as it was heading towards there navel base.

Are Russia just saying he's there to get around the fact they killed him by mistake.

The plot twist is it was 2 North Korean lads who shot it down on their first day.

When you live in a dictatorship like Syria crime tends to go unreported and unpunished the state uses it's resources to hammer the people into submission

It was the perfect moment for the rebels to strike, the Iranians have proved to be a paper tiger the Russians have not got the resources and the Army had not been paid apparently, there will have been a hell of a lot of inter clan talks going on and backroom deals

I believe there was a meeting between Russia, Iran, and other former supporters of Assad, somewhere in the Middle East over the weekend. They all withdrew their support for Assad. Following that, the regime had nowhere to go so allowed the militia to walk through as the former force walked away.

It would have been hilarious if Russia denied him entry. It was all probably pre arranged like a match between Giant Hsystacks and Big Daddy!!

Hopefully, the new regime will be better than the old but I dm not too optimistic. Would love to be wrong.

Could have killed him deliberately. He’s no benefit to them living in Moscow. His wealth is probably in western banks and inaccessible so he would just be a liability for Russia. Easier to kill him and pretend he’s got asylum never to be seen again. We all know Putin’s a **** and is hardly likely to look after a “friend” who is no longer useful. Loyalty is an alien concept to him.

Yes, this seems entirely plausible. Possibly even likely. I guess time will probably tell.
