For what? He can't mean to manage in England as he won the league. Europe? He got us through the group stage at his first attempt. So, what exactly is he on about?

It's been nice to not listen to it, so it will stay off for now

Good enough to win the league
They were talking about who would finish top 4
I switched it off after that ridiculous statement

The French correspondent on there seems to think we've paid quite a bit over £40m for Mangala, on the basis we've paid Porto £32m for 57% of him, ergo we've had to pay another 47% on top of that to the third party, I'm sure it doesn't really work like that, but that's how it was reported.
Has to be bullshit, as we'd be paying north of £55m for him.
I think he said we paid just over £24 million to Porto.

I may be wrong on the £32m, what I'm pretty sure he did say was the final figure was around £44m or so.

It's funny I have also stopped listening to it in the car and now listen to music instead and feel much more relaxed. There is a gap in the market for an intelligent sports-based station (Radio 5 is too political these days). Until then Talkshite is off limits

Wins a double - including the biggest prize in domestic football - and they are asking if he's good enough?
Perhaps they should aim that question at some other incoming manager who has no experience of the premier league, and from whom much is expected! If only I could think of someone.
Not holding my breath though.

It will never happen mate. It's part of the British pundits code of ethics they are not allowed to question Rag managers. They take it as red that Butthead will just win things naturally. Wee Davie has been air-brushed out of their history. That didn't really happen.

As I understand it, we are allowed to spend a total of £49 million.

Nothing for Sagna, £12 m for Fernando, £4.4 m for Caballero, £1.5 m for Zuculini. That's £17.9 million, leaving £31.1 million for Mangala.

Unless we spent the Rodwell money on Eliaquim as well, which I don't believe.

City are briefing that we paid £31.9 million.

I prefer to believe City rather than some make-believe artist. It will all go down in the accounts anyway. Perhaps a better explanation is that City paid Porto £31.9m, and Porto paid a portion of this to buy back Mangala from his 3rd party owners to enable the transfer, the delay being at their end and not City's.

Please sack him!

So do I, INCB.

Why would the club lie about how much it's paid?
