50/50 decision for me.
Not a blatant dive in my book - more of an exaggerated fall - which I'm not a fan of, but had that been Aguero I'd be screaming for a pen, and had it been Otamendi, I'd be saying was never a pen.

I just don't think it's a huge controversial penalty or case of blatant cheating.

I don't disagree. They are all cheats. My point is that it is a dive. Contact with one ankle does not cause anyone to collapse in the way Benteke did. Therefore he dived.

Difficult for the referee in real time but for anyone to say it's not a dive after reviewing the video is delusional or worse.

Referee wasn't giving it, till lino flagged. How he can see the contact from his side, i don't know.

Yep. I listened to Collymore on Talkshite and you'd think there was no contact. In actual fact they initially said there was no contact. I saw it on motd2 and was surprised at the amount of contact. I know Benteke went down easily, and that fucking grates, but there was enough for it to be a pen.

I think the point is, initially there could be no certainty. It looked like a dive at first glance and its only after seeing super slow mo that the tiny bit of contact is made.
I think the officials guessed and bought it. I suppose the only real argument, and it's one that we'll never know, is could he have stayed on his feet?
