Taylor for the Liverpool game

I think this is generally the modus operandi for most refs in the biggest games nowadays. They tend to shirk the biggest decisions.
Someone needs to explain to them that deciding not to give something is still a decision and if it's wrong is just as bad as incorrectly giving something.

It doesn’t, it was just a suggestion. Why are you moaning that no one is talking about it when they clearly are?!

Because most are talking about a brilliant tackle by a great City player as it was some sort of assault. In line with what the media want people to be talking about. Rather than a nailed on penalty that wasn't given.

At the match last night and at the time i thought it was a penalty , watched it again when i got in , still looked a penalty...Also regarding the Kompany tackle , i thought it was a yellow , very similar to Lovrens earlier on Aguero which i also thought was a yellow , on rewatching i thought the main difference between Kompanys tackle and Lovrens was Lovren made contact whereas Vinny didnt , for some reason nothing is being made of the Lovren tackle or the Sterling non penalty in the media , yet plenty of noise about Kompanys tackle ?

Hallelujah brother, fantastic post.

My point is, the most scandalous decision in that game was not awarding Sterling a penalty. Certainly not his view of the Kompany tackle. Yet the former does not feature in the media.

If your beef is with the media, rather than City fans, then that’s fair enough. There’s always been a disproportionate pro-Liverpool bias in the media. The anti-Sterling sentiment probably doesn’t help either.

If we’re being truly open minded then it’s possible that the Kompany decision has come under greater scrutiny because we won - i.e. it had more impact on the result than the Sterling decision. If we had lost then maybe it would’ve been the other way around. I doubt it though.

My beef is with the media Ric, but also with some City fans who for whatever reason go along with what they say. As Ive already said the major decision he got wrong last night was not awarding us a penalty, not the Kompany tackle which to me wasn't even a foul let alone a card. And you are absolutely right, had they won there would have been no mention whatsoever of a nailed on penalty to us that wasn't given. To my mind, we won despite having a ref who despises us.

Fair enough mate, but I think you’re doing a bit of a disservice to some City fans by saying they simply go along with whatever the media say. The Kompany challenge would’ve been discussed on here regardless. As would the Sterling penalty decision, and indeed both have been. Think we’re splitting hairs though if we’re arguing about which one has been discussed more.

Most of the media have said it was a yellow too though, the ones that said it was a red are in the minority.

I disagree it wasn't a foul, you can't go into a tackle in the way he did, even if you do regain an element of control. I'll reiterate the question, if a Liverpool player had done a challenge in the exact same way, would you really say it wasn't at the very least a foul? As I really doubt it, or you are essentially saying whoever we play against can get away with going into challenges in a similar way that I really wouldn't want them to against our players.

Kompany did the same against Southampton, he is utterly brilliant when on his feet. When
he goes to ground, he lunges at times and he's running a very fine line when he does it.
