Walked the 15 miles from Todmorden to Chadderton along the Rochdale canal last week,very pleasant until you reach industrialised Rochdale but enjoyable,did it in 4 and a half hours.

This should only take a minute - there's not much left of industrial Rochdale - and yer back in a rural idyll.

Stayed there for a week last October.....one of the nicest small towns in England, very unspoilt with several fine shops.

Snowshill Manor is just a few miles away...fascinating place, full of rare curios.
