I went to Bert Trautmann's testimonial match in 1964 and got his autograph. Then I met him again at The Etihad shortly before he died where he signed my book.

Eric Nixon when on loan at Carlisle Utd, I was a mascot and put him as my favourite Carlisle player so I could get a photo with him, people on loan not usually picked so there was a few faced being pulled.
I was also a bit old to be a mascot as well tbh but my mates dad was match sponsor but he didn't want to be a mascot as he hated football.

Played in the same school team as Darren Beckford through High School.

Darren and Jason went to Burnage didn’t they? Lived a few streets away from their house on Clitheroe Rd in Longsight.
The Bennett brothers lived on a street in between, Montgomery Rd, directly opposite my primary school. Often use to see Paul Power etc dropping them off after training when we were on afternoon playtime

When i was little my baby sitter went out with andy thorpe (early 80s centre half for stockport county). He played in the same county team as bill williams who city weirdly signed in about 1988

My Dad taught Roger Palmer, Eric Nixon & a few others at secondary school.
Joe Mercer used to come in & hand out prizes at the end of year, etc.

And I once stood behind Denis Tueart & Dave Watson in the queue for ice creams at Dunham.

Who was your Dad Blue Theatre if you don’t mind me asking? I was at school with Roger at Wilbraham, played in the same school team as him, the Nixon’s lived up the road from me in Withington and Alex Williams is Hon President of our supporters club. Your Dad quite possibly taught me.

My grandad drew portraits in charcoal of Kevin Keegan and Niall Quinn. My dad sent them into City and both signed them.

My cousin is father of Luke Bolton now at Salford.

Chaired a meeting with a painting contractor and it was Bill Williams company. Spent more time talking of his City experience than the painting.
