When Nick Ferrari seems reasonable, you know that the caller is a nutter.
They could apply for a mortgage.Genuine refugees need our help, but If you want to work here (economic migrant) come here legally. A huge number of people arriving on boats are not refugees and are abusing the system. We absolutely don’t need that and clearly can’t cope with it - refugees are now permanently living in hotels as there aren’t enough houses for them or local people.
It’s an argument normally made by old people who have a backward world view. Gray rarely disappoints.I've always found this argument utterly fucking baffling.
The glaringly obvious is that most don't arrive here; relative to the rest of Europe we have very few arriving on our shores.
The other glaringly obvious thing is that those that do make the journey here aren't stopping in other countries en route because the UK is their intended destination.
If you jump on a train from Manchester with the intention to go to London, you ain't gonna get off in Birmingham even though the train is stopping there.
Because that would be idiotic if your intended destination is London.

Did they not fancy stopping in any of the dozens of countries they passed through on their quest to find the land of plenty?
There are no legal routes unless you are white and european..Your completely ignoring the numbers of people now compared to say 100 years ago/ 50 years ago. Even in the 90s immigration was nowhere near the hundreds of thousands we see now. Infrastructure could actually cope and communities could properly integrate.
Ireland is a very unique example being so close to the uk - literally and culturally.
It’s in the last 10-15 years immigration levels have been very high compared to any other point.
There is no comparison to the US. Other countries in Europe perhaps
