Tevéz: Man of the Match...?

Re: Tevéz: Man of the Match...?

nigel was head and shoulders above anyone today. And is proving to be the great prospect hamburg knew they were losing. Makelele eat your heart out. The guy is a beast and i would hate to play against him.

Man of the match to super nigel.

De Jong was the best player on the pitch by a country mile. Was simply immense in the middle of the park!

Nigel De Jong, tek a boo son. He's been immense in every game since he broke back into the side. Makelele Mark II.

And to think we have Ireland, Robinho, Adebayor, Kompany and Onuoha to come back from injury/illness, and Johnson, Santa Cruz and Tevez not yet fully fit! OMG!

Tevez was superb tonight, not just the 2 goals and the 4 or 5 other attempts but also that he never gave possession away all night - would love to dig the thread up from the other day when people were saying "Tevez is ordinary...blah blah fucking blah".

Yes, De Jong was magnificent AGAIN but when you consider on another day Carlos could have scored 5 or 6 then he quite rightly deserves MOTM.

Carlos 9.5
De Jong 9
Zab, Bellers, Kolo 8.5's
Petrov 8

De Jong just shaded it imo, but I would agree with the rest.

Re: Tevéz: Man of the Match...?

2 goals for Tevez so cant complain but DJ Nige is amazingly good

Re: Tevéz: Man of the Match...?

considering the abuse the media gave us for paying 18 mil for De Jong i find it quite amusing that he is now looking a snip at that price - no wonder Hughesy was so keen to get him in the winter rather than wait til summer when someone else may have snapped him up.

One problem for NDJ is not of his own making, its referees trying to outlaw tackling. I have seen him win tackles cleanly recently and the ref blows. Its shit. A good tackle is as pleasing as a good pass

not wrong there John, thought Foy was poor tonight - he gave every 50/50 as a free kick to them.

I agree with this, it will get NDJ more bookings than he deserves but will make him a better player in the PL
