Tevez defies City and flies out to Argentina

Re: Tevez defies City and flies out to Argentina!!

I think Carlos is misunderstood and we should cut him some slack.

It can't be easy for him to cope and I for one wish him a swift recovery and hope to see him back in blue as soon as possible.

I tend to think he does have depression of sorts, he is so up and down and he acts so irrationally and against his own interests. If it was really calculated and about money he would not have done half what he has done, so much has been emotionally driven.

But it really doesn't change anything in my eyes either way- we need shot and we need compensation that is adequate.

Depression is about the only thing that can explain the irrational spiral of self destruction he is in

He's been depressed since he started his career then!

His, is a combination of lack of intelligence, a South American temperament, and an ego which is driven by money and oblivious to his relevance in the pecking order.

Tevez is a conniving prick and through his agent, has agitated and attempted to undermine Mancini for more than 12 months by leaking every cough and splutter inside our club.

All for his own ends.

I bet he won't be too depressed to play for another club come January.

Very true that Moomba, but at the same time there are just as many who aren't able to hold down a job or conduct themselves as they should. It depends on the individual, the severity and root cause of the depression, and the level of support or medical assistance they are receiving.

He wasn't suffering from depression when his wife and kids moved over here to be with him last month.

This is cynical opportunism. He's not depressed, he's desperate.

So desperate in fact, he's willing to use anything that he can to achieve his ultimate aim.

He has blamed Garry Cook, Mancini, Manchester, Ferguson, kids, wife, language, injury, depression, weight, even citing various motoring offences as a cultural misunderstanding.

Tevez wears a badge of convenience which is even bigger than his ego.

I totally agree that it's all opportunistic bull on Tevez's part. If it was depression he wouldn't be out playing golf!.

I have to say though I dont overly agree with the way people are talking about depression though, Obviously lots of clueless people on here with regards to that.

-- Tue Nov 15, 2011 1:28 pm --

This I find funny. The guy had a go at players driven by money, with there flashy watches etc etc.

Yet no one can afford his wage demands! Go Figure ;)

TH he has probably been depressed since his teenage years if he is!

It really amazes me that people genuinely think if you are rich and play football you can't be depressed it shows just how little understanding and how much stigma still goes with it. You can be the richest man, the biggest rock god, an international footballer and have it you can be a homeless drug addict and not have it.

Is tevez mentally Ill? I would think so what else can explain the irrationally of his behaviour he has done far more harm to
Himself than anyone else

He may well have been, he's never exactly come across as a contented or cheery soul has he.

As I say I'm not disputing anything you've said there TH, he most likely is all the things you've listed and there's no question he and/or Kia have manipulated situations to their benefit right throughout his career. I just think it addition to all his other traits, depression could be something he suffers from.

As EalingBlue2 said though whether he does or not doesn't change the fact he needs to be gone ASAP in the best fashion for the club.

That in itself isn't necessarily true, but I don’t think this is a thread to delve into an extended dialogue about the nuances of depressive behaviour.

He's a massive **** who's trying it on. At our place of work people use the depression card or addicted to alcohol/drugs card to become untouchable, which they are when that card is played. He's doing the same thing. I know people get depressed for a whole variety of reasons, but if I was on enough money each month I don't have to worry for the rest of my life, played a game I love, didn't really have to consider my job as 'work', had my wife and kids here and generally had it very fucking easy indeed, I wouldn't be depressed even if I looked like a burnt gargoyle. As I say, he's a massive ****. Thankfully though, he is missed not one little bit in regards to where it matters, on the pitch.

I've no idea whether Tevez is depressed or not (I suspect he may be), but I do know you don't have a clue about the nature of depression. It can affect ANYBODY, rich or poor, young or old, attractive or ugly. I don't suffer from it myself, but someone close to me does, and if I ever did suffer from it I hope to God my boss isn't someone like you.

I'm not saying Carlos is really depressed, but your post shows a complete misunderstanding of the physical illness of depression. It's got fuck all to do with how much money you're on or how hard you work (or don't).
