Tevez: "I am a City fan. When United play City, I root for City"

It's smacks of short term desperation and would do the club more harm than good imo.

It'd be the perfect answer to the short term desperation we've found ourselves in. I suppose that's a different argument though.
Bringing somebody like David Villa in might be harmful in its own way. Tevez on the other hand...

Both Tevez (he was up until his first transfer request one of my favourites) and Villa aren't the solution to our short term striker deficiencies.

Malcolm Allison as well.
But then Ian Rush, Mark Hughes, and even Tevez himself with Boca are others.

Going back to your old club can end up being a very positive thing.

I'd only want him for this Winter.

None have reached the dizzying heights of what they had reached in their first spell.

That's true many haven't. Carlitos has just won the league with Boca though and I'd only like him around the squad for the Winter run of games with FA Cuo and FL Cup coming up with about 10 games in 6 weeks over Christmas and NY.

It won't happen though so don't know why I'm going on about it, haha!

Well, I'm not going to be two faced about my original stance on Tevez. I can't really remember him kissing the badge and all that, after all.

Apart from him being a 'great player' he was highly selfish in the Hughes phase and only integrated his game to include others, halfway through the Mancini era.

Not a lover of Tevez, the team player, but respectful of Tevez, the footballer.

Hahaha, that's quality.

That's the ammunition for this week sorted.

He could've gone on to be a true legend here, shame the spat with Mancini spoiled it. His behaviour left a very bitter taste in the mouth, has to be said.

I'll try and reflect on the sweeter moments though.

When he signed and Garry Cook welcomed him at the reception of COMS with a hug like Jesus to a long lost disciple. The Welcome to Manchester poster. All the rags saying they were glad to see the back of him, and some even saying they got the better deal on signing Owen for free (mentalists).

His goal in the League Cup semi derby at home where he gave it to Neville on the touchline and cupped his ears in front of Taggart when we were singing his name.

Some real quality moments.

The 4-2 at the Bridge where he ran the show and was battling anyone and everyone, squaring up to Terry. Was quality.

One of the more obscure moments I can think of is that season where we played him as a false nine and he pretty much singlehandedly dragged us to 3rd and our first top four finish. And besides his stunning brilliance, leading the entire side, was one particular moment when we played Chelsea at home that season that stands out for me.

It was in the lashing rain when Chelsea got a penalty in the dying moments to potentially equalise, Given saved it, cue raptures and the ball being cleared wide. Well the ball fell between Tevez and Terry, at the touchline and they both hurtled towards it, sprinting at full pelt. Both of them hurled themselves at it smashing each other in the 50/50, Tevez being the much smaller man didn't hesitate and threw himself at it. When they came together, Tevez picked himself up and came away with the ball, initiating a counter attack. Terry was left in a heap on the floor and eventually hobbled off, injured.

That was Tevez. And he was a sight to behold at times.

Just wish it didn't turn out the way it had.

Well said Bigga

That's why I admire the likes of Zabaleta and Aguero .

These two haven't give us the dramas Tevez and his agent created .

With the compliments of Swales Lives, I believe.
I thought it was Cheeses of Nazareth?

One sour note about Tevez - when we won the FA cup there were quite a few pictures of him being given City scarves by fans and then taking them off. I thought, given how special that moment was, that was poor.

That said, he was an unbelievable player.

Hard to believe the fuss it caused at the time. The rag media were going apeshit, the rags were going apeshit and not one paper had the decency to say it was in relevance to the "not in my lifetime" quote.

That was his pseudo pseudo. But it was Swales Lives that took the wrap. Funny as fuck. Even had the odd numpty on here slating him for it.

Yep, Ironically it was completely lost on the chronicles.
