Tevez: "I am a City fan. When United play City, I root for City"

I liked him. The spat was partly Mancini's fault and he did in the end play a part in the title win. He was superb at Norwich and that goal difference really helped.

Taking him and not a poor Aguero off in the Wigan cup final was a mistake for me too.

That was his pseudo pseudo. But it was Swales Lives that took the wrap. Funny as fuck. Even had the odd numpty on here slating him for it.

Yep, Ironically it was completely lost on the chronicles.

Not the first time he's been responsible for a bit of City folklore. He was also responsible for the "Uwe's grandad bombed Old Trafford t-shirt" but he didn't make any money of it. Someone saw his, copied it and flogged em.
He was an excellent poster, Cheeses was a moment of brilliance and kudos to BB for playing his part in that particular episode. I hope he comes back.

Why would he say 'root'? That is neither English or Spanish, looks made up.

I concur. I'll raise you his Cheeses with BBs Sue Denim :)

'Root' aside, just the tweet itself, serves to remind us that he hates the Scum more than anything else. Only when it comes to the Derby does he wish us better than them. What the fook is that...? I'd rather he says nothing at all!!

He has no love for the club. I've never heard him speak lovingly of City like he did with the Scum, at first, then Juve after us and Boca forever. He paid respect to the fans and that's it.

It was just a job and I wish people would see that.

I posted this on the Tevez thread a few days ago

He certainly had no love for the club, but he always gave 100% on the pitch. I say on the pitch because he did fuck off golfing for a few months. I don't feel any strong emotions where Tevez is concerned. He used to play for us and now he doesn't. I always felt that Tevez played for himself rather than the team.
Fantastic player, but I couldn't really give a shite what he does now or what he's done since he left us.

A few of my memories. Oddly enough, most of them are against Chelsea:

The home game in the 2010/11 season and it's 0-0. Carlos broke away and scored the only goal of the game.

The Bridge-Terry game at the Kremlin, when Tévez and Bellamy scored two each. Carlos was phenomenal that day.

His first game back after his 'golfing holiday', when he came on as sub and backheeled the ball into Samir's path for him to slot in the winner.

And the 6-1 away at Norwich. The golf swing celebration after his hat-trick goal was hilarious. Some claimed it was a dig at Mancini, but I took it to be taking the Mickey out of himself.

Great player for City. He was just what we needed at the time to help drag us from also-rans to genuine contenders.

Enjoyed that video - he never seemed to hesitate when a shot was on - bang!

One of the best strikers we have had , he was genuinely world class , sorry to disappoint some posters but 99% of professional footballers ,are just doing a very well paid job , the days of playing for a fiver and a satsuma at half time , are long gone.

Tevez was top class for us. Really helped us move up to the next level. Of course it was a shame what happened in Munich and the months to follow but let's not forget this is the guy who completely rejected United to com to city, was the first city captain in 35 years to lift a major trophy and played a big part in our title win. For that I will always be grateful.

I think some people are being a bit needy saying he never loved the club. The last player who loved the club as much as the fans was probably Paul Lake nearly 30 years ago. Maybe Michael Johnson.

Anyway, no player will ever love the club in the same way a fan does. But Tevez will look back on his career and he'll know he was at his absolute peak as a footballer at City. In 2011 I think he had a genuine shout of being the 3rd best player in the world. There was a period where he had the best goals per minute rate in Europe.

He dragged the team on his back. He signed for us when we'd just finished 10th. It's no wonder some thought he tried to do it all himself under Hughes, he did, because the players around him and the manager weren't good enough!

He was absolutely idolised by the fans before that transfer request. At the time he was the most popular player of his generation at City. We'd just gone top of the league and the transfer request came out of nowhere. Some bollocks about executives breaking promises. Really it was about his agent being a slimy **** poisoning his mind with shite.

It's a shame it all went sour because if you remove all the noise he's an all time City great for his on field performances. I think Silva and Kun have edged in front of him now, but he's got a real shout of being the 3rd best player of the modern era.

Looking at where we were when he arrived, to where we were when he left. The adoration the fans had for him, the rivalry with United, the proving to them he was right to move and proving Fergurson wrong, the level of performance he reached at City, he'd have to be a robot not to have some feelings towards the fans and the club.

Completely agree with all of that. Great post, mate.
