Tevez interview in the Mail

The media are filled with lying bastards, is the only explanation I can come up with.

I think we're going to find that this time round, this isn't so much a case of the media stirring shit up, as there being a lot more going on behind the scenes than people realize - and maybe Carlos felt he needed to get his message out there about certain issues. You can question using an interview to air some of these things, but I imagine it's not that easy for him to just ring up Khaldoon or Cook and have a chat about things.

I dont want Tevez running the training at City, Tevez is a worldclass striker, but Mancini is a proven winner when it comes to being in charge of top team.

Tevez has a bit of a moan, no big deal to me.

Can you be a bit more specific? What's Carlos' message? That Hughes is a great manager. And Mancini isn't up to the job.

I think it's normal for a player to be loyal to the manager that brought him to the club. Read bizbo's post earlier in this thread, it's spot on, you don't need to be best mates with the manager for them to get along, as long as the respect is there, and it seems like it is.

Poor interview Carlos lad.

West Ham, what happens if we have to win to get 4th and they go down. Will he be 100%.

Complaining about training, happy with Hughes who shouldnt have gone and is just OK with Mancini. The poster etc

If all true he should be fined, not good timing, its the Rags job to have a dig at us and not our own.

Don't worry mate its all blown way out of proportion its all to conveniant that it just so happens all this is said 4 days before the derby we should all be to use to this now.

Carlitos will prove how much he loves the club and manager on Saturday

With respect Robbie, you're one of the posters who doesn't really believe a word I say on this board, yet you troll around after me asking loaded questions, just so you can slag me off when I answer them.

What's your thoughts then, Billy, as to the timing of this?

I don't believe for one minute that this is an interview done in the last couple of weeks, Carlos wouldn't be that silly.

Is it more likely as I mentioned earlier in the thread that they have cobbled together pieces of info from previous interviews when he was "down" knowing full well that they could wheel them out now in advance of the derby?

I've lost all respect for Tevez. This is going to unsettle the team at a crucial stage of the season. Forget 4th. 7th is probably the best we can hope for now.

response of a rag?

Some of you have no media savvy whatsoever.

In an interview this is what happens:

Q Has Mancini improved you as a player
A Not really.
Q It's just that you've played so well this season
A I have played at the same level since I overcame my injury.
Q So do you like Mancini?
A I am very happy to play for him as a manager.
Q I heard he makes you train hard. Is this true
A (laughs) yes.
Q Are the players happy with this
A (laughs) Of course not
Q Why?
A It is the end of a long hard season, with some big matches. We get tired you know!
Q how often do you train then
A Sometimes morning and afternoon, sometimes 2hours
Q Why?
A i do not know. Look, he is the coach, I am a player, he's in charge. Stop trying to make out I don't like him. I'm OK with him.

becomes....

Naturally this leads to Roberto Mancini, the current manager and the replacement for Hughes. Tevez scored two goals in his first 12 games this season and has scored 20 in his last 18, which suggests an improvement in his performances. But though the striker remains happy to play for Mancini, Tevez says he has ‘not improved me as a player…I have played at the same level since I overcame my injury.’
More intriguingly, he questions why the former Inter Milan coach insists on double training sessions. ‘The players are not happy with this. We are at the end of a long season, we have big matches, we are tired but there are still double training sessions, morning and afternoon. Then, the next day, we train for two hours. I do not understand. But, please, he is the coach and I am the player. He is in charge. I am OK with him.’
