how have you proved that i was wrong, all i stated that a method of payment was recieved the next day along with a document from the club with a courier. Be it a cheque or a drat its only a statement to pay not a direct transaction. All a cheque does is request monry from one account to another a draft is a statement of pending transfeer.

As iv already said, i dont know the ins and outs at city the source is from the united side and last time checked we have not done business with united directly.

See, I dont want to be picky but Im bored but as you have asked :

funny that beasue when we signed both robinho, Kompany and De Jong a cheque / bankers draft arrived at the selling club by recorded delivery bearing the royal seal the very next day for the full amount.

im sure you can get one of the ITK's to confirm this.

Nothing to do with the Rags and if you dont know something why make it up as fact ?

As you want to be picky, not only is this common knowlegde, widley reported, but Martin Jol also stated it in a press conference that we pay immedialty, hence why teams do business with us because everyone else pays on the drip over the term of the contract.

At what point did I say my source has told me..................etc.

Cheshire Blue - are you suggesting that City and/ or the owners pay for players by cheque or banker's draft?

Let it go URG lol Its not a cheque its a draft with a royal seal and Its just me being picky. Come on you all know me Mr Mellow, I dont want to get into a row on t'internet and anyway he didnt say it apparently ;O)

What i was referring to was that with the tevez sage we have gone as far as to get the payment ready to show out commitment to the deal. So Kia will be paid immediatly.

It is known that the next day the selling clubs get something from us then money recieved. Just that some people seem desperate on nit picking every statement made.

i just wish he'd hurry up and sign already ! we've had weeks and weeks of this will he won't he saga

Ok, truce, youve got me but in the interest of harmony why not do like the rest of us and use the IMO (In my opinion) acronym instead of posting as ridiculous fact.

I will bow out now CB and leave you with my apologies if Ive antagonised you, Im a big enough man to admit when Im being childish. Im sure posters on here can make there own assumptions without my input.

Oh by the way all that the above means is that we do indeed pay in full and not in installments but only when the deal requires that (Unfortunately with our wealth that is now most of the time) but its not by a geezer posting a cheque. Big business cannot operate that way Im sorry.

Well this thread is hundreds of pages long so fuck knows whats been said but from the noises comming out of the press today its seeming unlikley we will get Tevez. Seems to be odds on to stay witht he pigs now which will be a shame.

I really hope we go all out for Tevez and Eto and the pull out all the stops (and cash) needed to make it happen.

With those 2 and robinho perceptions really would change, other top players we want to sign and the media would finally start taking us seriously.

If we end up signing RSC, Crouch type of players the perception is going to be we are going backwards from this time last year not forwards. Right or wrong.

its cool. All that over a post to say nothings actualy happened. lol

oh well passed the time didnt it!

I don't want to stir it up too much but will make a couple of points. Firstly, cheques and banker's draft are an outdated form of payment these days because they take too much time to process and clear.

Secondly, I have first hand experience (I cannot go into much detail here) of working for two Middle Eastern Royal Families managing assets in the UK and further afield. Often funds were required on a monthly and/ or more often basis....sometimes millions. At no stage when a request for funds was made did we receive a cheque or banker's draft delivered with a Royal Seal. Funding was received via the banking system by use of telegraphic transfer/ CHAPS. It's fast and you get same day value (ie no waiting for clearance of funds etc).

If someone is going around saying that when City pay for players it's by cheque or banker's draft delivered under Royal Seal...I severely doubt it.

Which press have you been reading??

Every paper who has printed something about Tevez has said he is City bound.

Just wondering where you have read or heard he will be staying at the RAGS?

"Don't worry Tevez's move to City hasn't been announced - he has been playing in Argentina for JavierZanetti's testimonial this weekend"
