I'm actually quite confident of us signing him personally. I have booked off 1st of July to the 3rd of July and then you have the weekend so hopefully he'll have signed by the 5th before I go back into work. I think it's a matter of when and not if now. Chelsea are out the running due to not matching his wage demands (probably due to Lampard / John Terry similar level) so unless someone comes in late, I can't see him going to anyone but us.

I dont think its a done deal by any means. But it seems like we are favourites at the moment. Of course another big side from Europe could still come in and nab him.
At the end of the day he wants to stay in England that has been made clear. His family are very settled and happy in Manchester, this has been made clear. He wont go to Liverpool, Arsenal cant afford him.
So its down to us or Chelsea and they seem unwilling to match the transfer fee OR the wages we are offering. The big variable is sides like Barca, Real and Inter and what they will do if they cant get their primary targets, Villa, Drogba etc.
Seems like we have thrown a right spanner in the works of a few clubs with the players we are going after this summer and the speed that we want to do it. We are going after some of the best players in the world and we are not even in the champions league. The fact we are even this close is pretty amazing.

The launch of our website and new kit as well as pre orders almost certainly guarantees he will be unveiled on that date. If its to be believed we are going to have our own tv channel on the site, unveiling Tevez on a loop, showing him signing the contract, interviews, holding the new shirt, front and back, wearing the shirt while doing some keepy uppies on the pitch, setting fire to a picture of bacon face, will all but guarantee even the most hardened anti consumerists to crumble and pre order a Tevez 32 shirt.
Can't see him going to Chelski. He wants first team football which he will potentially have more opportunities of that if he were to come to us. moving down south will put him in the same position as he was at the other place. He knows what our fans are like which I feel will have an impact on his decision too IMHO
