Tevez [Merged]

Manchester City expect to confirm the signing of Carlos Tévez on Tuesday to end their pursuit of the Argentina forward who has played for Manchester United for two seasons.

City want Tévez, who will cost £25.5 million, to join their squad for their pre-season tour to South Africa, which leaves on Wednesday, but they appear to be ready to end a proposed move for Samuel Eto’o.

The Cameroon forward rejected Barcelona’s offer of a new contract yesterday, leaving the Catalan side with little choice but to try to sell him because he has one year left on his present deal. City had a £25 million bid for Eto’o accepted two weeks ago, but they claim that they have run out of patience in waiting for Eto’o to decide whether he wants to move. The 28-year-old would prefer to move to a Champions League club, but so far there have been no other offers made for his services.

It was there a few minutes ago, I refreshed the page and it just says coming soon. Maybe it's Robinho all over again?

What are you two on about?
Someone claim Chelsea FC has posted an article on the official webpage that Tevez has joined. I have enough time to click to the link and seems it got deleted. (or nothing in there at the beginning)

He would have been the cherry on top of the cake, but in my opinion more important Tevez signs.

With

RSC
Boj
Robbie
Bellamy
Tevez (if he signs)
Big Phil

Still got plenty of striker options.

yes but two of them are shit (big phil + bellamy)

No they're not!

Big Phil is as strong as an ox and I want him for the scrappy games such as Bolton forcing his way through defence and Bellamy is a great striker for us, shows great emotion, his ONLY drawback is his injury record.

If/when we get Tevez, I'll be more than happy with our attacking options and the great variety we can call upon.

Good summary.

Some of us are getting just a bit on the spoilt brat side .

BTW : superb ending to today's Tour de France stage entering the Pyrenees (Awesome scenery !) Contador has well and truly thrown down the gauntlet to Armstrong .

How will the Astana management react??

Who is team leader on the road now ?? (Contador JUST ahead of Armstrong in the GC).

All this is happening out there in sportsland whilst many BMs spent the day locked away in their bedrooms with a PC like teenage Goths

FFS people , get a life !!!

Nothing on Chelski's OS.
got deletd, if its even true, but why would chelsea do it anyway if they were going to delete it?

still nothing on that cfcnet chelsea forum thing

It wasn't there in the first place. I was refreshing that page when he originally posted the link, so I visited it about ten seconds after him, and it wasn't there. Instead of using a "Link not found" page, Chelsea use a "Coming Soon" page, so no matter what link you use (as long as it is formatted properly) you will get that message.

I then deleted it, as it was an attempt by a known WUM (he has two seperate accounts which are both WUM accounts) to stir shit.

How about the sensational ride by Bradley Wiggins! Armstrong is to be applauded at age 37!
Consensus of most of the media is Tevez to be unveiled on Tuesday!

nobody buy the star today is really depressing, says the tevez deal is on the brink of collapse, is holding out for chelsea, or even utd could go back in for him, which i cant see after calling fergie president of england, and woolnough having a right go over john terry saying to join city would be ridiclous. talksport having a pop also on the sports news saying city have failed to land a big player again.

Don't worry that will all change when we announce the next signing.

Just a thought on the SM123 thread - concerned that some will use this Etoo pull out to say - see the info was crap etc - saw something along those lines on another CITY forum to which I replied:

"................That said I think you 2 are picking the wrong example here - the fact that we have pulled out of Etoo late on a Friday does not in any way prove the 'supposed' ITK comments by that SM bloke wrong - if anything it proves them

When the things were posted even Gary Cook (who must be ITK) would have said we are in for Etoo - things are looking good etc - it is only the change to our position over the last couple of days that has stopped this.

If I am doing a big business deal and I have it fully negotiated and my contacts in the buyer have told me it is a done deal - I would state that it is a done deal (well obviously not to my company who I would be negotiating with on bonus but you get the point) - but often some last minute hiccough comes out of the blue - does not mean my confidence level was wrong previously - stuff happens.

It is clear that we were in for him and Barca wanted to sell - so the information / opinion was sound at the time it was given /posted..............."
