or some believe winning isn't everything and that winning with a side you can be proud of is more worthwhile. I wonder how some here got through the bad times if winning means so much to you.

I got through the "bad times" in the belief that we would eventually start winning again.

Do you honestly believe we were all sad fuckers that actually enjoyed being beaten by shit teams? Seriously?

Do you think we all had a nobility about us, fighting the good fight, stocked up with decent blokes like Dickov and Horlock and Crooks... and you think we were happy with that because we were "proud"?

I will repeat... it is a fucking football club... not the United Nations.

Every fan of every team wants their club to win games. It would be nice if we all played like Barcelona, but if it takes the tactics of Stoke City, then you'd take it.

Throughout our history we have been linked with bribery, irregular payments, prejudice, horrific sendings-off, brutal players, arsehole managers, arsehole players, arsehole chairmen, all the very elements of football.

So why do you have this quaint noble view that somehow City are above all this and we should be happy with being second best and good losers?

Do I want Tevez to play? We've got by well enough without him so far. But if the manager decides it's for the best then that's good enough for me.

I simply don't trust Tevez to perform for our cause.

The pro tevez camp seem to be of the opinion that no Tevez = 2nd, with Tevez = Title.

I don't see any reason to think this way?

Eh?

This is NOTHING to do with being pro-Tevez!

I wanted Tevez sold LAST season! My point is that we trust the manager to make that decision and back him. That's all.

But to read the stuff on here, Tevez comes off the bench and the stadium is going to empty!

If you don't want Tevez to appear in a City shirt ever again, then all Mancini has to do is not play him.

Or are the numpties on here going to boo the manager as well if he makes that choice?

-- Sat Feb 04, 2012 11:13 am --

With the greatest of respect I would trust our manager's opinion on whether Tevez is going to perform before yours.

Or are you saying the manager can't be trusted to make that decision either?

I would, of course, trust Mancini's judgement if he ever did pick Tevez but I honestly don't think that's ever going to happen. Personally, I don't think it will get to the stage where Tevez ever plays for us again.

This is a redundant argument imho but I am amazed that so many would trust Tevez to perform for us.

I'd rather win the league and be a two face bastard then finish 2nd.
I hate Tevez but I'd love to win the league more.

Not that it matters I'd be surprised if he ever played for us again.

This for me

I argued at the time that Mancini should have handled the Tevez situation differently, and that we may need him at some stage. Admittedly, my opinion was very much a minority one, and the majority supported Mancini's tough stance. Fair enough, Mancini asserted his authority and effectively cut Tevez adrift from the fold. The upside of that was it seemed to bring the squad together and the manager was a happier man without Tevez around. The downside however, is that it's now impossible for Tevez to play for us again without Mancini looking weak (Tevez will not apologise because he thinks he's been treated badly by the manager), and there are serious question marks over whether Tevez's heart would be in it.

Pure smokescreen naming him in the 25 man squad. The club are just making sure that when the chips are down the little twat and his snake of an agent can't walk away free from city citing us for breach of contract (not playing him enough).
If he wants to spend from now until the next transfer window wanking off in Argentina then that's fine, but it will be him breaching his contract, so he can't walk away for free or force a move - and we can sue the fuck out of him.
Far from "ruining football" I think the sheiks deep pockets will save it, by allowing us to stand up to Carlos and Kia, and if we have to we can spunk the money we spent on him up the wall just to make a point. We will soon make it back when other agents /players realise we can't be held to ransom.
Having said that, if he comes back with his tail between his legs and gives it 100% I hope he plays and helps us win the league.

I'd go to the grave supporting City even if we never won a trophy. I grew up in the shit times knowing nothing but humiliation. I'd accepted us never winning a trophy as more that a possibility; it was a likelihood. So I followed the blues taking great boosts from derby wins, promotions, unexpected victories over top sides. No different from most football fans up and down the country who never have cause to expect anything better.

I would take one-nil wins to the title. Absolutely I would, but I couldn't accept bribes or flagrant cheating and still look a rag in the eye and say we deserved it. Especially in the case of the former I'd want those responsible out of the club.

Yes, I would like us to have a moral high ground. There's more important things to life than winning and not turning into rags is one of them.

hgblue you maybe in the minority but everyone has their opinion and Im with Mancini. While you can't argue Carlos Tevez was a good player for us you feel that through misguidance of his agent and so called family matters to put it loosely Tevez had been building things up and was wanting out. So with this and other certain players who tried to disrupt things along with the anti City media and inept refereeing Mancini has handled a very tricky season so far with everything thrown at him, well. The team are still top and have played well, scored lots of goals and conceded very few without Tevez. We now move into a very crucial stage of the season where every City fan should forget all their differences and just get behind the club.Certain players in the present squad have dipped in form just get behind them and lets get the blues over the winning post. I feel that City have to include Tevez in the twenty five so the little spoilt brat has no ammo to fire in saying that he has not been isolated and its down to him not wanting to come back to Manchester. FORZA MANCINI.....FORZA CITY !!!!!!!!
