Is there any chance he could live in Madrid with his family & commute 1st class daily?

It's approx 2 & a quarter hours from Manchester to Madrid. He could fly at 7 (9am Spain time) & be at carrington for 10, for training. Catch the 1pm flight home & be back in madrid for 5ish their time.

Is that a viable short term solution????

I can't see any major reason this couldn't work, it would be awkward but do-able. If family was really the only issue they would have considered this.....but we all know family isn't the only issue

The only sticking point I can see with that idea is that he does still have to play for us and not Madrid.

who are the vaible replacements in everyones eyes

everyone seems to agree on aguero (as do i)

but who are the others....

hulk - is he actually any good or does he just have a cool name ?!?!? (ive not actually seen him play)

higuain? - not my ideal type of player to be honest...

ibra - please god no!!!!!!

is there anyone besides drogba from the prem???...i cannt think of anyone who we actually could get....though RVP would soften the blow of losing tevez (even thought the person is a bit of a scum bag on the pitch)

anyone else?

the only player that plays in the same ilk as tevez in the prem is rooney...and obviously there is no chance of that

There are some people who work Mon - Friday in Europe staying in flats to return each weekend to their family. Anything is possible provided you have the guts to do it which tends to suggest he is using the family purely as an excuse. He has cold feet and wants to move, earns his mate dosh simple as that.

Other solutions Simon,
Neymar £40m
Karim Benzema £25m
David Villa £35m
Samuel Eto'o £25m
Luis Suarez £30m
Guiseppi Rossi £15m
Mario Gomez £25m
Falcao £25m
Edinson Cavani £35m
Vagner Love £15m

Has got to be Sergio Aguero, fantastic footballer and would be able to fill in and copy the Tevez role after a few months of adjusting.

I think £42m for him is a fair price as well, especially if we can flog Tevez for £50m.

Aguero as he could also play on the right of midfield or up front and Lukaku as our 4th striker.

Spot on.

So Tevez wants to go to Spain / Italy, what would anybody think to a Straight swap Tevez for Aguero?

I would do it in a heartbeat. Tell Tevez he isn't going to win trophies but at least he and the missus can live in Madrid. Otherwise tell him to fuck off and be at training 36 hours after Argentina is out of the Copa America.

How is wanting a 4 th striker and a Tev replacement excluding dzeko and Balo as they are 1st and 2nd??? Someone can't count. Or someone rates Jo top dog

Eh? People are quoting the likes of Aguero and Eto'o as the 'Tev replacement'. This would put Balotelli and Dzeko on the bench for big games - what's the point in that? You could play MB from the left, of course, but our interest in Sanchez/Nasri indicates that our two 'wingers' next season are going to be Silva and a new signing.

And Jo's perfectly acceptable as a 4th choice - if we're seriously unlucky enough to lose three centre-forwards, we could a lot worse than Jo.

Sell Jo and make Lukaku the fourth. Plenty happy to play sub for two years for a big club and we are a big club.

or one I think would be a clever move would be Chelsea for Torres. He didn't settle in at Chelsea but nobody can deny how good the player is. A move back to the north west could be just what he needs. Plus he loves scoring against Stretford Rangers.

I will deny it. IMO he will never regain the form of a few years ago.

only 1 could replace tevez and thats aguero
This. And might I add, that in my opinion he is a better player :)

Can't personally say he is a better player or not....but the swap would certainly make our team better.

-- Tue Jul 05, 2011 10:13 pm --

Nobody think that Dzeko can step into Tevez's boots and be our star striker next season?

One of the most sought after strikers in Europe when he was at Wolfsburg due to the amount of goals he scored and started to look good towards the end of last season. Given a good run of games for us next season I can see him coming good and banging goals in for fun.

Sort of. I think he is going to be fantastic, but he is nowhere close to the TYPE of player Tevez is. Mario, Dzeko, and a Tevez style player (Aguero) make an amazing strike force that gives Bobby endless options depending on the opposition.

Yes but we still need someone who can play from wide as an inside forward with pace and mobility. Aguero would be perfect.

Silva--Dzeko--Aguero

Balotelli?

----------Dzeko------------

Mario -----Silva------Aguero
