Other solutions Simon,
Neymar £40m - no....just simply wouldnt hack it in the prem
Karim Benzema £25m - good player but not in the tevez mould
David Villa £35m - very good player but would he leave barca...and would he adpat to the prem and he is also getting on a bit.
Samuel Eto'o £25m - one of my fav all time players - but would he come???
Luis Suarez £30m ...hmmmm!!!!...intersting
Guiseppi Rossi £15m - no ...simply not in the same class as tevez
Mario Gomez £25m - as above - no thanks!!!
Falcao £25m - not seen so no idea
Edinson Cavani £35m not in the same class as tevez...no thanks
Vagner Love £15m
- please say you are joking!!!

from that list id go for aguero, eto-o (thuogh he is a very different type of player to tevez), suarez...no idea about falcao..the rest are either not good enough or unobtainable

who are the vaible replacements in everyones eyes

everyone seems to agree on aguero (as do i)

but who are the others....

hulk - is he actually any good or does he just have a cool name ?!?!? (ive not actually seen him play)

higuain? - not my ideal type of player to be honest...

ibra - please god no!!!!!!

is there anyone besides drogba from the prem???...i cannt think of anyone who we actually could get....though RVP would soften the blow of losing tevez (even thought the person is a bit of a scum bag on the pitch)

anyone else?

the only player that plays in the same ilk as tevez in the prem is rooney...and obviously there is no chance of that

RVP manages about 20 matches a season, good player but way too injury prone imo.

Eto'o and Villa are the only ones in that group who can match the skills of Tevez, and they are 30 and 29 respectively.

If Cavani is our substitute for Tevez, I could see us not making top 4.

Main thing is to get him out the door as quickly as possible.
He was a great player for us but if he's off, then goodbye and good luck, son. We need to replace him asap.

First player I'd look for is Suarez at Liverpool. Sure it's a long shot but so was Carlos before we signed him. Destabilising red-scouse wouldn't hurt either and the right offer could possibly cause friction between Dalglish and John Dubya, even if we never got him.

Second, would be Drogba - a short term solution but proven Premiership material. His experience alongside Balotelli and Dzeko would be a great help. Not to mention, Drogba would have a point or two to prove to the world.

Third, Van Persie. If Arsenal are going to be picked clean and we can't get Fabregas, then Nasri and RVP are probably the next best. Let's be 'avin' 'em both.

Buying from the continent - as Mario & Edin have shown - demands a certain bedding in period. For all of their undoubted qualities, Aguerro, Benzema and Higuan etc. would need time and I'm not sure that we'll have that when you look at our other strikers.

Hulk is a decent player, he's quick, and strong (as you'd guess by his nickname). He's a decent dribbler, not tricky like AJ or Silva, but more a powerful runner with the ball. I would say not to dissimilar to Yaya and Anelka the way he dribbles: beats people with pace, but not out of control.

His main asset is his left foot, he strikes a good ball and is also a fairly decent crosser. He works pretty hard and seems to have a decent attitude.

From what I saw of Porto this year, Falcao is a better finisher, but Hulk has more about him. He's not as cultured as Aguero, but maybe more suited to the EPL. I would take him in a heart beat. He seems like a Mancini type player too, and offers flexibility as he can play up top or from either wing.

From what he says in the press he seems like quite a loyal guy, I'm not sure how that affects us. If he leaves this year he will go against what he has said so far, I expect him to leave Porto next year.

EDIT: Also he looks like he'd be pretty good in a fight! Which is never a bad thing

I'd want Aguero, Nasri and Mata..... Just hope Mancini does'nt look to Italy for his replacement, don't rate Cavani, Hamsik or Lavezzi etc.
Cavani would be fine if not for the ridiculous fee it would probably cause. Agreed on Hamsik and Lavezzi though.

One last thing, from a purely football point of view I would probably take RVP as first choice. His injury record is a deal breaker tho, and I can't see Wenger selling him too
