Tolmie is the final word of tevez , mancinis or is he getting advice from above.
The strategy is being driven by the board & the owner. Mancini has to put his own feelings to one side over this. That's why he's not looking happy at the moment. I think there have been some fierce battles and brinkmanship over this affair behind the scenes and maybe some bridges have been burnt.

Do you think the manager who froze Onuoha & Bellamy out over far less damaging incidents would willingly welcome Tevez back? Mancini could win us the title and Europa League yet still not be manager next season over this (and that might be his choice by the way).
If Mancini wins us the Europa League and the title and then decides he wants out of City due to politics it will be a very sad day for MCFC!

Wouldnt worry fella there is plenty of guesswork going on in this thread as per usual and most if it will turn out to be complete and utter bollox

It'll be a sad day for MCFC if he 'only' comes second in the league, fails to deliver the also ran euro-trophy and moves on however it happens. Not that I believe it will.

I'd give him a ten year contract right now tbh.

PS Fuck off tevez and kia you toxic twats.

What purpose would that serve apart from guarantee him a £50m payoff if we have to sack him?

Nonsense to suggest he'd get anything other than, say a 2-3 year extension, and nonsense to say he'd get it at any other time than after this season has panned out.

PB said exactly what I think about this too..

If Mancini is pushed to welcome Tevez at any state from any reason that is not 10% rule, I could clearly seen him quitting on the end of the season. That would damage his authority completely and knowing him I doubt he would accept that.

Yaya Toure does not think the return of Carlos Tevez to Manchester City would threaten the squad's harmony in the Premier League title race.

Tevez is back in England after more than three months of unauthorised leave in his native Argentina and he has been training in solitude at his club's Carrington base.

The former City captain's return is far from the end of his bust-up with boss Roberto Mancini, which first started in September's UEFA Champions League defeat to Bayern Munich.

Mancini has hinted Tevez needs to say sorry before he will be fully reinstated and fears remain the striker's comeback could have a destructive impact on a cohesive squad.

But Toure, who returned from the Africa Cup of Nations for Thursday's Europa League win over Porto, told Sky Sports News: "Carlos is a fantastic player and I hope he will continue with us, because we need him.

"He is an amazing player."

Tevez wanted a transfer in January and AC Milan, Inter Milan and Paris Saint Germain all held talks with the player before failing to meet City's asking price in the region of £30million.

His long-running dispute with Premier League table-topping City has been an unnecessary distraction for the club and Toure has indicated Mancini and the players are both expecting an apology.

"For me, it is not a problem," said Toure ahead of a weekend off following City's elimination from the FA Cup. "He knows what he has to say to the boss and to the rest of the players.

"I think all the players will be happy if Carlos comes back."

I didn't suggest that we'd do it. I suggested that I would do it personally.
I wouldn't subsequently sack him so that eventuality wouldn't apply and I'm sure it could be covered by suitable time based caveats in the contract anyway. But yes I'm sure our owners would prefer to do it in conventional bite sized stages like you.

The best manager that we have had since the glory days and nothing would please me more than seeing him endure at the club in the same way as Taggart or Wenger have done at theirs.

Would silence all those that seek to destabilise MCFC by constantly sniping from the sidelines, or via conjecture about the special one or whoever, as his future could not then be in any doubt.

Not a fanboy. Understand his shortcomings, but there is no such thing as the perfect manager anyway. He is a perfect match though for MCFC in my opinion.

So you just have great faith in, him, Balti, that's fair enough.

But football managers do not get 10 year contracts, it'd just be daft. Like all managers, he has to achieve his objectives or he gets the sack.

But surely we want to do more than that. And to be honest with any other manager apart from Mourinho we would be no more guaranteed success than we are with RM.

And JM is not coming to City.
