Tevez to return (Merged)

The best possible outcome in my opinion...

Tevez trains for a month with the reserves until fit
Gets his head down and works hard
Keeps his mouth shut and eventually trains with the first team
Comes on as a sub in just a few games as City continue winning
Scores a couple of important goals
Plays well so his value goes up
Is sold for at least £30 million in the summer
City win the league and maybe even the Europa League
Everyone is happy
See --> :)

So you just have great faith in, him, Balti, that's fair enough.

But football managers do not get 10 year contracts, it'd just be daft. Like all managers, he has to achieve his objectives or he gets the sack.

a 5 year contract with an option to extend for another 5 will do lol

agreed he has to achieve his objectives of course or get damned close but I very much doubt that after sneaking Champions League that his objective was to win the league this season

Top 3 perhaps. More likely top 2. Trophy a bonus. That would be my guess and lets face it we're all guessing. So he'd be right on track, or better, and there is no chance he will be sacked on the basis of this season imo.

I think I posted when he arrived that he may just be stand-in for JM till we get CL footy. I also subsequently posted that I'd consider JM an upgrade to RM. I no longer feel that way. There is no point in change for changes sake now imo and certainly no guarantee that the Special One would be any better than Bobby for us.

Of course if Bobby himself chose to go then that is a different matter and I'd certainly hope that we'd be in for JM in if that were the case.

Even if Mancini wins the league, anything more than a 3 year contract is madness. In 3 years, just winning the league will not be enough. No reason to create our own problems

I hate shit like this. "Just winning the league wont be enough". Get to fuck. Are you on drugs? United dont win something every year, do they sack Fergie? No i didnt think so. Winning 2 trophys every 3 years will be enough. I dispair of this forum at times.

At first I was pleased Tevez had returned to City. I wanted everything to be ok, he would eventually play and be excepted back. After all hes a great player and playing wise an asset to any team. Then I kidded myself into thinking its up to Mr Mancini, if its good enough for him, who is anyone to complain. But! and its a big But, Tevez as done nothing at all to indicate that he wants to be at City. In fact his "treated me like a dog" statement says everything. When he should be building bridges hes burning them. My opinion now for what its worth is give him nothing. Comply with his contract and get rid of this parasite as soon as possible, delay his wages make him fight through the courts for anything he claims is his.
Having heard that Roberto say that he doesn't even want to mention Tevez for three months I suspect that he will stick to his word when he said Carlos Tevez will never play for Manchester City again. And we are now waiting to open the shop window to get rid of these soiled goods.

The guys an insult to Roberto Mancini Manchester City Manchester United Football The whole Argentinian nation, the whole spanish speaking world, including Zorro and El Cid. He should piss off back to where he came from and take that Kia Picanto with him.

The strategy is being driven by the board & the owner. Mancini has to put his own feelings to one side over this. That's why he's not looking happy at the moment. I think there have been some fierce battles and brinkmanship over this affair behind the scenes and maybe some bridges have been burnt.

Do you think the manager who froze Onuoha & Bellamy out over far less damaging incidents would willingly welcome Tevez back? Mancini could win us the title and Europa League yet still not be manager next season over this (and that might be his choice by the way).
If Mancini wins us the Europa League and the title and then decides he wants out of City due to politics it will be a very sad day for MCFC!
It will be sad for Mancini but MCFC will survive.

dont wast you talent , you deserv better than this.

every man and his dogs very well knows that any top manager (as mancini is) would imediately do a capello if the board or the owner says a word about how to manage a player

you cabals guy would be really funny if it wasnt that football its a lot hard for you to understand. or , maybe , you are just in bad faith , who knows.

It's the way of the "project". If we win the league this year, next year we'll expect a strong title challenge + the strong CL run. The year after we'll expect either another league + strong CL run or a strong title challenge + the CL.

If we haven't won the CL 3 years after winning the league, the project isn't on course.

The 10 year project was to make City the biggest club in the world. We're halfway through year 4. There is no way that we get to year 7-8 without winning the CL and still achieve that goal. If people don't achieve their goals, their heads roll. Ask Gary Cook or Mark Hughes.

I don't particularly like it any more than you guys do (and indeed have wrote long posts on here supporting the idea of stability and patience), but this is the reality of the situation.

Although the club was taken over by Sheikh Mansour in the 2008/09 season, I'm sure I recall Khaldoon writing that season off as transitional in regards to the project?.
