Tevez transfer saga

He's quite possible the biggest mercenary in football. We knew that when we got him but have gotten a good run out of him. It was only a matter of time until he continued his money-making pilgrimage though. If we do manage to get 40m for him without a part-exchange we can reinvest that in two top players.

Personally I feel that we should be able to get more than £40m for him judging by the inflation of transfer fees over the past few years. Also when you consider some of our signings the £25m we paid for him looks like a bargain.

I like Tevez, but there have been many city players I have liked over the years and I'm sure there'll be many more.

If he moves on so be it, and if we qualify for the Champions League then we can pretty much sign anybody we want to replace him in my opinion.

I don't mind him going if we get at least £50m for him and if he doesn't do an interview after he leaves, "My City Hell".

If tevez is fit i wouldnt start him in the final anyhow, to me the line up should be the same as the semi, seems only fair the team that got us their with such a great performance deserve a crack at the final

Couldn't agree more. He's blown it now. Substitute at best.

IMO we have had him in his peak years, anybody notice how fat he is getting recently.. They dont like unfit players in Italy..

Get rid and get as much money as possible for him, the dressing room will be a far better place with him gone..

He gone i have only 3 wishes

We get as much money as possible
He keeps his mouth shut after he leaves
And just like the welcome to manchester poster we have a tahnk you Carlos poster holding the FA Cup aloft with CL qualification

Now that would be a nice thought instead of all this negative shit

the press might, not to sure about the fans, probably would be split, no harm starting him on the bench.

A lot depends on how we perform between now and then.

If the final was tomorrow and he was fit would you play him?

To be honest, NO!

As much as i admire Tevez for his hard work and graft for trying to win every ball, when i watch the semi final back we look far more disciplined and balanced.

Hear me out.

When Tevez chases players back, harrasses players, then yeah he might win the ball back but there is no straight outlet once he does win it back because of the style we play. So the ball has to be passed back to De Jong, Kompany or whoever, and the slow passage of play, that frustrates so many starts all over and allows the defending team to get into shape.

Now with Balotelli on Saturday, while he did come back a few times and add some pressure, most of the time he stayed up the pitch, looking to make runs in behind United, or coming short and playing a 1-2 and then making the movement again, but the majority of the time he spent as a forward. Also, when players like De Jong, Barry, Kompany, etc win the ball back, they have that extra option to hit the team on the counter, having Balotelli upfront too i think we get more out of Yaya aswell, as he doesn't always have to bust a gut to get forward because Tevez has ran all the way to right back to get the ball.

As much as i love Carlos, i think we have a better shape and balance without him.
Spot On it's great if were playing 2 strikers then it works. He ends up so deep in our half we don't even have a chance of a counter.

Thanks for the memories, great stuff - 50+ goals in two seaons, fans love him - but if you want to leave fuck off. End of.

If he genuinely wants to leave then let him go.

Keeping unhappy players against their will is only ever going to be detrimental to the squad.

Would be a shame to lose a player of his ability, but City are moving forward regardless.

If Tevez doesn't want to be a part of it then so be it. No one is irreplaceable.

That's a really insightful analysis and have to agree. I think we'd be more of a team without him from now until the end of the season. Time will tell.
