Tevez transfer saga

Obviously we don't know has gone or going on with the Transfer thing but like people say i reckon he's nailed on to leave. Love Carlos class player all around and obviously will be really missed (if he leaves), now i'm not saying it cause i think he might be going but for me Kompany and De-Jong are far more important than Tevez, had this argument with a few rags in work last week but i'd have them two over him anyday. Imo we can replace Tevez but in my opinion Komp and De-Jong are unique in their own ways. Onwards and Upwards! CTWD!! :)

When Tevez chases players back, harrasses players, then yeah he might win the ball back but there is no straight outlet once he does win it back because of the style we play. So the ball has to be passed back to De Jong, Kompany or whoever, and the slow passage of play, that frustrates so many starts all over and allows the defending team to get into shape.

Now with Balotelli on Saturday, while he did come back a few times and add some pressure, most of the time he stayed up the pitch, looking to make runs in behind United, or coming short and playing a 1-2 and then making the movement again, but the majority of the time he spent as a forward. Also, when players like De Jong, Barry, Kompany, etc win the ball back, they have that extra option to hit the team on the counter, having Balotelli upfront too i think we get more out of Yaya aswell, as he doesn't always have to bust a gut to get forward because Tevez has ran all the way to right back to get the ball.

As much as i love Carlos, i think we have a better shape and balance without him.

This is exactly right.

Sam Allardyce said much the same in his comments after City's game against Reading on ESPN. The gist was this: "City play possession football. But they are [often / normally] set up with just Carlos Tevez up front but he does not really play up front. As a result, they have to play a lot of sideways passes to make their way upfield and they hope to create scoring chances with little passes through opposing defences. But if teams are given the time to get 9 men behind the ball, it is extremely difficult to break them down." That pinpointed precisely City's main problem this season.

In my view, if Carlos Tevez had genuinely welcomed the arrival of Mario Balotelli and / or Edin Dzeko, Roberto Mancini would not have been faced by a constant dilemma. City would have been challenging for the Premier League title. And Carlos would have been miles ahead in the race for the Golden Boot!

If he had cooperated with Ade rather than against we would have got the CL spot last season.

But frankly speaking Tevez was looking after his own interest & for his own glory. Bottom line is Tevez has never done well for us in our derbies.

S'times we have to sacrifice this type of player for the good of the team & club.

Its good to know we have a choice and in the driving seat to decide our destiny.

Snedjer might be our better choice.

He wants out, too many articles all over the place and not one statement from him or his team denying it. I think its time to just say "thanks" and "goodbye."

Eto may be after one final big pay day before he retires and regardless of motivation I would take him over anyone as he as always scored bags of VITAL goals where ever he has played. Even the scum are shit scared we may get him in this deal.

Be gutted to see him leave. l I know this is not the topic but Id have Tevez over balotelli every time. You know what you'll get with Tevez and thats goals and 100% whereas with Balotelli its hit and miss and for us to get Champs league we cant afford to have a player not trying every game.

To be honest, NO!

As much as i admire Tevez for his hard work and graft for trying to win every ball, when i watch the semi final back we look far more disciplined and balanced.

Hear me out.

That's a really insightful analysis and have to agree. I think we'd be more of a team without him from now until the end of the season. Time will tell.

If we can get Sneijder (sp?) in plus a few bob for Tevez, and find another decent forward to replace CT, I wouldn't be too unhappy. Yes, he's been a fantastic player for us, his goalscoring record confirms that. But, like as few on here have already said, we look more of a team with him not playing.

To be honest mate, you're completely wrong. Either you're being deliberately economical with the truth or you don't know as much about the game as you profess to. You say Tevez dropping deep doesn't leave an 'out' ball. Really? Is that because we play with one up top, and when Balo hasn't played, we've basically had nobody with pace who can run in behind? What about when Balo is fit and he plays from the left. When Tevez drops deep does Balo not run in behind from his position on the left thus stretching the game. Isn't our formation supposed to be fluid enough that players interchange? Did you not notice how many times during the semi Silva was the furthest player forward and Balo had shifted to the left?

I can just about swallow all the stupid Carlos bashing because to some extent he brought it upon himself with the transfer request. I'm not going to have people making out like it's good for footballing reasons that he goes. Complete and utter bullshit.
