I've no doubt it was sanctioned leave and the club knew his reasons. I'm simply speculating that those reasons might have been slightly exaggerated if he was able to spare several hours to play golf with his pals. As I`ve suggested once before on another thread 1 + 1 = 3 with some people,so lets assume that the Club were aware of his circumstances,otherwise why let him leave.City would have done some homework on the situation,before making a decison.

The complete silence by the main press strongly suggests that they club have give them an explanation but asked them not to print it. And that they have accepted that explanation. They wouldn't gag themselves if the personal issue wasn't very serious.
