We say goodbye to another City Legend - another captain bowing out at the top, like Vinny, David and Fernandinho before him.
But Ilkay’s goodbye is the best of the lot - leading us to the Treble and the most glittering season in our history on his way.
He turned into the ultimate big game player during his time with us - and became our captain in the process.
The player we could turn to when the pressure's on, and we needed someone to step up and show the rest of the team the level we needed to be at.
He didn’t have that when he first came to City - he grew with us, and we reached even greater heights because of it.
It’s not exaggerating in any way to say League last season and the Treble this season simply would not have been possible without him.
But all good things must come to an end, so it’s time to say a fond farewell to our Skipper and a true City gentleman.
We’ll always have the memories to share - wherever our journeys take us next!

He is our only player who played in Number 8 for longer than a season without starting with or taking other numbers.Second best no 8 ever to play for City.(?) Wish him all the best, will be sourly missed.
Bell played in 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10 if starting and mainly sub numbers after his injury which included higher numbers in the UEFA cup with more subs allowed.
All squad 8s lasted one season or had another number first. It was a bit cursed.

I’m still in denial about Gundo leaving. I had a gut feeling it was going to happen for weeks, but clung onto the romantic hope that the treble would convince him to stay.

Won't officially leave until his contact expires at the end of the month. I'd expect to see plenty of stuff on there next week.Still nothing on the official website about him leaving.
Nothing about Kova on there either.
