And for anyone wondering if there was any chance at all of a covering defender then this should dispel that notion. Milner doesn't clip him there then he's bearing down on Allison. The very definition of a goal scoring opportunity.

In fairness the trajectory of fodens run wasnt directly towards the goal, which i think can be a factor

Foden doesn't have to be running directly on goal...have you never seen the angles he can score from? Impossible ones sometimes, even the biased commentators have to acknowledge that!! :-)

Doesnt matter really tho as in this instance the ref totally shit his knickers, as he did throughout the game

Nah, surely not? Maybe in a 'last defender so he has to go' situation but inside the box a foul is a foul and a pen regardless of what direction a player is running in.

Sorry yes a foul in the area is a pen regardless. For it to be a red card its got to be denying a goal scoring opportunity? . In which case its down to the refs interpretation ?
Think milner on foden was just outside anyway

There was a lot of talk last season about Liverpool suffering from a lack of crowd at Anfield.

Translated into English, this means that the crowd intimidates the ref into giving bad decisions, which is a form of cheating.

Refs who are intimidated by big crowds have no business plying their trade in the PL.

I don’t know how anyone can come to ANY other conclusion than that Tierney CHEATED.

He knew it was a yellow card offence but didn’t want to send Milner off. That’s is AGAINST the LotG. He knew exactly what he was doing. THAT is cheating.

He won’t be held to account, just like he wasn’t held to account for the FIRST “second yellow” ( if not red!) he should have got for the foul on Foden right on the edge of the box.

HE KNEW that if he called the foul, it would be an automatic card and as a “last man, no challenge for the ball” foul, should be a RED!

So, knowing his options, he didn’t even give the foul. Because he didn’t give the foul, and therefore he didn’t create the doubt whether it was a penalty or not, then no VAR. No VAR means he doesn’t have to have his work analyzed in game, and there can’t be a “clear and obvious error” call…unless the VAR official believes it WAS a penalty!

VAR has a quick look and hypothetically says “it’s a foul, but it’s outside the box, so no penalty, thus no VAR review required!”

It’s a fucking “get out of jail free” card!

I’ll be interested to see if Tierney is “rested” this weekend or they brazenly give City the “Fuck you! He’s one of us!”

The game is FULL of liars and cheats, but it is also the biggest football draw in the world of cable & satellite TV, so it’s rapidly becoming more about the spectacle, and protecting THAT, than protecting the sanctity of the game.

Tierney has now and forever marked himself as a weak CHEAT for bowing to the money, TV and (not so accidentally) crowd! Like Pep said, it’s Anfield, it’s Old Trafford, it’s wrong!

1-1 game, City on top, Liverpool down to 10 men with 20 mins to go. Salah doesn’t get his goal, because Milner is involved, and there’s a strong case for City go on to win. Instead, it’s 2-2 and the ONLY narrative is “Salah is world class” and “Salah is the best player in the world!” not “City dominate but Tierney spoils their party!”

Milner sent off at 0-0 for denying the goal scoring opportunity and salah would have been the one sacrificed for Gomez as they were putting everything through Mane. For whatever reason maybe city placed an internal scout report saying Dias was fucking scared of mane pace or something but Mane v Dias was their game plan, so 0-0 11v10 no salah invariably we would have missed the freekick but it would have been another 3/4/5 goal twating that makes the red twats look bad, which is bad for the brand and or betting syndicates so the cheating **** uses the var shit get of jail universally excuse.
