You never mentioned the 80's you said Maine Rd , and yes i was there , i hardly missed a home game from 1965 until the last Southampton home game , there were plenty of full houses (certainly more than twice a season) and games were the ground was 95% full and in the early days in the Kippax loads of fans jibbed in without paying , you could easily get a dad and a lad in a Kippax turnstile, so the attendances were very rarely accurate.
So glad your immune to criticism of our loyal support , no doubt you couldnt give a fuck about FFP and other issues our club has been criticised about ,if you want to live in your land of make believe fine ,but dont insult passionate supporters by questioning their self esteem , you maybe can sit in a corner like a wallflower and accept all the crap and lies told about our club , i do not and i suspect there are plenty of blues who dont either.
As for your S****horpe reference i regularly watch Southport , plenty of empty seats at Haig Avenue but they also have 600-700 hardcore loyal fans ,now that is what you call football support , so i certainly know which side my bread is buttered , because i am also lucky enough to watch on of the best football teams in europe.

Where do you sit ? Obviously not anywhere near me at the bottom of 115. Yep, be surprised because I'm making it all up. Everything's great, and it's rocking all the way way through the games and Everybody is a manc and sings they're knackers off for 90 odd minutes. It's amazing!!! OK, I'm taking the piss. You obviously don't sit near me, and you don't see the lethargy in people within my immediate vicinity. So if it's great near you then yippee, I'm happy for you, but where I am is utter shite!

Last time I was in 115 Tim was the Leon game. I couldn't see many empties around me as I was standing, but what I did notice was fans seemed to be bunched up closer together, possibly causing gaps in there?.... The rest of the stadium where fans sit all game, the empties are clearly on show most games like I previously mentioned.

It was full on many occasions, wasn’t a regular until 85 but off top of my head every derby, Everton in Cup in 81, League cup semi 81, Newcastle in 84, Clive Wilson divin header v Liv, 86 , Liv in Cup QF 88

That might well have been what was happening mate with friends choosing to congregate in other blocks

Thats modern football in the prem .youngsters in partc are not bothered about football,they would rather be playing games on some technical device indoors,in the warm.An awful lot of old school fans,die hard blues are not interested in sitting down in a plastic seat in an almost antiseptic atmosphere.
Its not just a Manchester thing...its being repeated in grounds up and down the country.There is a real problem here.

Your Southport comment is exactly my point, unused seats mean absolutely nothing, they are not a reflection on a club or its fans. Yet some seem to think that empty seats at our place are.

I can easily ignore comments about the club, if they’re not true they don’t bother me.

The sepia tinged nostalgia about Maine Road only gets stronger by the year. It simply wasn’t full that often, neither were many stadiums in the period. This obsession with counting the number of people not attending is a recent thing, there’s regularly 30,40 thousand unused seats at Barcelona without any of the hand wringing

I sit in the 2nd and in all my 50 years supporting City not once have I not seen anyone not celebrating a goal...that's bizarre. Never said you was making it up, but I won't be the only one thinking your comment was strange bud. Very few celebrate when city score?!?!

I had to read that a few times: I'm fairly sure you mean that you've never seen anyone not celebrate, but you've actually said the opposite with that triple-not...!

Sort out the redistribution system - make it easy and people cant complain. If you can't be arsed to turn up and you can't be arsed to sort someone else then at some point the club should take action.

As stated the case for filling the stadium and improving the atmosphere has been made over and over.

Exactly!! Four years ago when my family were concerned about whether I would live or die the last thing on their minds (I was out of it!) even though they know my love for City was whether they could get anyone to fill my seat!! Even when I came out of hospital it was a while before I could get back to matches. I am very particular who I loan my ticket to and would never sell it on for a match so during that period my seat was empty!

I pay for that ticket and if I don't want anyone else sitting in my seat if I can't make it then that is my prerogative!!

The idea is to put pressure on fans who dont attend to make their seat available to others. If you genuienly cant attend then there shoukd be an easy mechanism to alert the club and they should have systems in place to redistribute.

I'm not arguing to just start taking tickets of people - i'm saying their should be a simple process to allows people who cant attend to enable the club to allow others to attend. Sanctions only if people dont use it.

The Club publicise it so it’s down to the season card holders. It’s never going to be perfect because the people who pitch up for the big games expect their tickets to be sold for lower profile games when that’s sometimes unrealistic

It isn't easy and I dont think policeable to put pressure on people

For example, A ST holder thinks, our next match is a late night Wed night, weather forecast is shit and its on TV. I'll call the club and tell them Im seriously ill etc
