That's that then.

Exactly.

In short, you can't be friends with someone you once fucked if you still want to fuck them.

I know, I'm a romantic...

Hmm disagree in a way as i;m friends with an ex well a couple tbh and still get on
(but didn't talk for a year when we finished)

haha just reading through the earlier posts on this thread and it seems BOB is still up to this point ignoring peoples advice against the letter.

Some serious words BOB, without taking the piss. Most people on this thread have been through the situation you currently find yourself in. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't been heartbroken from my first love, I'll even admit to pathetically shedding tears and having some dreadful thoughts. Forget about the letter, time will heal all wounds. What you have to do is try not to post about it on an internet forum, if you must confide in friends and family, don't overdo it. Just looking at this thread you don't seem to be taking any advice on board, like I say, talk to friends and family but don't overdo it, the only person you'll listen too right now is yourself, all others can offer is a temporary lift. Do some exercise, go a run, the pain takes your mind off it. Run until it hurts so much it's the only thing that fills your mind, then you'll have peace at last.
I'll steal a few lines from the sunscreen song:
"Enjoy the power and beauty of your youth; oh nevermind; you will not
understand the power and beauty of your youth until they have faded.
But trust me, in 20 years you’ll look back at photos of yourself and
recall in a way you can’t grasp now how much possibility lay before"

Bob. Liam is your enemy. He's been bashing the crust off your little Scottish pie. You should not trust him. I'll be in touch.

Bob, if you decide to send that letter, you'll regret it the second you put it in the post box

-- Jul 17th, '11, 23:38 --

Great post. You'll still be banned within a week though ;)

Wow. I didn't expect a post so nice from you.

You know, I'm going to give it a few days before I decide whether to send the letter. I'll send her stuff back because I don't want anything to do with it. But I guess... I guess it's just time to move on.

Hopefully, I will have stopped speaking to her totally by this time next week.

Okay, I think it's time to let this thread go. People are falling out and I don't want that.

I've written her a letter basically explaining that I still love her, while explaining that if we can't get back together as a couple then I don't think I could take the emotional rollercoaster of us being friends.

I've given her my phone number if she wants to talk to me again, and I've reminded her that if she looks in the right places then she'll find me on Facebook and Twitter.

I've written a note to her parents thanking them for having me so often and I'm going to speak to her friends and say it was nice knowing them - albeit briefly.

This is so sad and my heart is breaking, but I guess this just has to be done if I'm ever going to be happy again.
Bob, you're starting to give me the shits. Listen to what I (and others) have to say.

Do NOT send the letter. Including the one to her parents.

She won't reply, and all it will do is end up making you more miserable. You'll spend every second chewing over the fact she hasn't replied.

Block her on Facebook and Twitter (but keep your account), and don't contact her.

I think he may be sober so the letter won't be bad. I've done it pissed (not letter-text/email) and not realised as was so pissed, got replies though. "Fuck off you nasty ****" being the most popular
lol i just have that moment in the Simpsons when Homer writes the letter to Burns in my head when i think of Bob and his letter
