The 2012 Olympics Thread - Its Over :(

Re: The 2012 Olympics Thread (4th August, Page 93)

After several hours in the Waldorf, i ended up near the Corn Exchange to witness gold in the long jump and the heptathlon. Tears streaming down my face, hugging complete strangers, you know the form. A very surreal day.

Did you get to see Mo Farah there? It has slotted in as one of the best things I've ever seen in sport! One of the most metal I've celebrated outside of City.

Missed it there, I'm afraid, but saw enough highlights when I got back home to realise just what a special day it had been.

To be honest, before the games i couldn't care less. It felt like more of a London thing than a British thing. Now i can't stop watching all the different events. Others probably feel the same but i think this Olympics has been great so far, despite thinking it would be inferior to the previous Chinese spectacle.

I was exactly the same mate. Best games in my lifetime so far though.

Dare i say it, has London been superior to Beijing?

The atmosphere, for one, has been breathtaking at times. And who could top this?

Obviously there's over a week left but I think this games will rival the greatest ever of Sydney 2000.

From what I remember, Barcelona in '92 was pretty special.
